Default How much & where to get stock tires?

I have an 04 Z that came with the stock Bridgestone Potenza.

I need to replace them sooner than later, and was wondering where to go, and about how much I should expect to pay.

The Potenzas worked fine for me, so I think I'll get another set. I'm an enthusiast, and do some canyon runs, but I don't need anything hardcore or for the track.

I hear going through the dealer for tires is a bad idea, so I was wondering where I should go, and about how much I'd pay including installation. Thanks.

You definitely don't want to buy from the dealer - you'll pay list price + for them.

Try local tire stores first, some of mine actually match or beat the online places. If that fails, try DiscountTireDirect.com or TireRack.com

Most people don't like the Potenzas. Personally, they did me good except in the rain. They are not good wet weather tires once they start to wear down.

I know people who have changed from the Potenzas to the S-03 Pole Position tire by Bridgestone and absolutely love them. Slightly more expensive but a lot better riding and handling tire.

Other popular brands are the BFGoodrich KDW2, the Michelin PS2 (my favs), and the Toyo T1s. Just depends on what you are willing to spend and how you plan on using them.

Yeah what ^ said..or you could try the RE50s. Those come stock with the G35 coupes and are suppose to be the S02 and 03 replacement line. They ride a lot better than the RE40s IMO

Firestone is a part of Bridgestone.

However, +1 on TireRack.com.

I suggest look in the classifieds section of this forum. From time to time, you'll have owners who want to clear out their garage and sell their barely used stock tires. Also, you can post in the WTB section of the classifieds. You'll be suprise how much you can save if you're willing to buy used tires that have low mileage in them.
