Lost a lot of Air Pressure! Help me out...
Hey everyone...hope all is well!
I ran into an inexplicable problem 2 days ago....keep in mind i have winter tires on now and plain black steel rims.
This is how it started out. I'm driving the Z home from work...all is fine....on the way home, however, I drove over a depression in the road...almost like a pothole, but a little more forgiving (thats the only abnormal thing i can recall). the rest of my drive seemed normal. I got home locked up the car in my garage...and the next morning I noticed that my rear tire was completely flat. The gas station is only 10 homes away...so i slowly drive it over and pump air into the tire. I checked my tire pressure after i got into work and the tire pressure was more or less the same. Now, a day later...the tire pressure is pretty much at the exact same level.
Can someone explain how this may have happened....keep in mind no one has tampered with the car....and I don't believe my pressure valve was stuck or leaking air becuase it was fine for weeks before this incident.
This is beyond me....should i have the tire checked or not worry...considering it's not lost air since?
thx

bent rim? tear on vaulve stem? put water and some dishsoap or window cleaner in a spray bottle, fill tire with air, spray with the fluid till you see air bubbles form and you will have found the leak

if they are stock potenzas then they are runflats, which means the tire can be driven on briefly with no air pressure without incurring damage.....

Cars with run-flat tires do not have a spare tire [BMW M3].
The 350Z has a spare tire.

Definitely get it checked out...
I ran over a chunk of metal that sliced open my tire three weeks after I got my Z. Never thought I did any damage to the rim, but when I brought the tire in to be replaced, talk about feeling like an idiot when they showed me what the metal had done to my rim...a nice inch and a half diameter hole. Not to mention the metal had also kicked up and shot through my wheel liner and then sat nicely inside my cars front quarter panel.
You never know...

It happened to me one morning on one wheel. For no reason the tire was just completely flat. My car parks on the street though.. so I'm convinced that some kid messed around with my car at night.
