Default Ask the "Tireguy"

If you guys have any questions concerning wheels or tires, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them the best way I can. I am fornate enough to have the resources to research most wheel and tire concerns. Thanks.

Default Front tire cupping

My front tires are worn out a 7000 mi. Cupping on inside edge is very bad. Seems to be a typical problem. Do you know anything about a Nissan fix?

Thanks,

Don

I have the performance model with 18 inch wheels. Will the following set up work well with my car. I just purchased toyo TS-1 tires 245/45/18Front, 255/45/18 rear.

I have the Performance with tire pressure monitors, I just bought a set of Track Rims with the tire pressure monitors also on them I believe. Both are stock rims, they just come from different 350Z packages in case you don't know. Now do I have to switch the tire pressure sensors, or will the Track pressure monitors be automatically detected and useable by my cars computer?

It's not the recommended set-up. You'll be going with a larger diameter tire, but with all the wheel well space, it should work functionally. You can optimize the performance if you go with 245/40-18 fronts and 275/40-18 for the rears.

Will a 275 work safely on a 8.0 inch rim? what about a 8.5 in?

8" barely squeezes that baby in. 8.5-10" would be better. I'm going to be using 19 x 10's for my 275/30-19's .
