Dunno..its paint...I mean...what's the issue w it? Are we suddenly against modding cars?
I think ppl have gone too far .... take a step back and let ppl play w their cars. Its what we do..
I know my mods all looked like **** when I was 16... but no one told me to go f myself over it..dunno.. food for thought...
There's a time n place..I dont get this aversion to plastidip..the name sounds whack..but its an incredible product.

paint, were talking about paint, not something permanent but paint, hold on hold on were talking about paint.....(in my allen iverson voice)
I painted my wheels with spray paint and have been at many car shows and people ask me if they are powder coated(i used sandpaper primer engine enamel and clear coat) plasti dip is not my cup of tea but its only a coat of silver paint away from looking stock. no need to bash for something that is sold as a non permanent peel off paint

im in tampa, i just graduated from USF with my finance degree... debt free because i choose to paint my wheels for $20 instead of dropping $1000+ for wheels. I am currently looking to start my professional career and would love nothing more then to buy a set of wheels, however because of my financial situation it did not make sense when all I wanted was something black. Like you said the general population confuses our cars with porches and cant tell that the small minor imperfections in my spray paint would never happen with a quality powder coating job. but that is my point exactly we are just talking about paint, a hand full of people will notice what it is but most people will say wow nice job I couldn't tell. Then when I go to sell the car I will buy silver paint turn them back to normal. correct me if i am wrong but judging by how easily i sanded the silver color off down to bear metal I would say are stock wheels are not powder coated the color they are and they are painted that color with a little more of a sophisticated way then what I was capable of doing in my back yard. I could be wrong but my last set of powder coated wheels were not much better looking then what I did for much cheaper

The back story is irrelevant, I'm debt free too and sadly after your explanation... it still looks like crap. I was just curious of your location because there isn't too many "car shows" in S.FL. Yes the OEM wheels are not powder coated and I've seen very nice examples of powder coating that would convince you otherwise. All I'm saying is... other than Civics, VW's, Evo/Subies, and now Z's... which other cars do the whole plastidip thing?

New Wheels
Haven't posted in a while, but here it goes.
I got a good deal on some 19" G35 Rays(Always loved them) , but they are white. I have a San Marino blue Z. What are your opinions??? Try the white, or get them powder coated bronze????
Does anyone have pics of a SMB Z with white wheels of similar design?
