I've tried to find that pic before I paint my GT's myself, but no luck so far.
I've got the fronts done in gold and they look great, but darker will be so much nicer. The rears are my next project, then i'll do the fronts bronze to match.
Sorry didn't see that anyone had commented ...
I had them powdercoated a month or two ago, but my car's only done around 10 miles in the last 4-5 months due to work I've been (slowly) doing.
They came out a pretty dark bronze except in sunlight where they turn much lighter.
I'll have some better pictures after Monday, I hope (car getting aligned so I can finally drive it), for now these are the best examples of light/dark I have:
Aside from OEM Nismo or OEM Rays, I'm a true believer that the only mod regular OEM wheels must receive are wheel spacers between them and the rotors. Anything else, I mean anything, I find ridiculous. Those include paint, stickers, aftermarket lugs, etc.
Fantastic, that's just what I'm looking for. I've been procrastinating very badly on finishing my rear wheels, although they are almost ready for paint. I haven't been driving the car much lately so I haven't worried about it. That's basically the look i'm hoping for but I will be painting them myself, the cost of powdercoating isn't worth it for an experiment and the last p/c job I had was terrible anyway.

I don't know, maybe I'm just an arrogant d1ck.
I disagree. It depends on what car. I powdercoated my wheels because I love the V2 and wouldn't get aftermarkets unless I drop a pretty penny. I actually would take my V2s over any replica wheels anyday.
I get many compliments on my wheels and they are powedercoated gunmetal and running spacers at stock height.

OEM lugs are stupid looking. Stupid. Plus they are chrome and I'm going for a blacked out look. Centercaps are plastic and gunmetal. Would look tacky mixed in with a blacked out wheel. Plus I'm going for a blacked out look. (Sound familiar.) Stock Nismo Rays already have a black Nismo decal on them. Seeing I switched the wheels to black, I paired it with a contrasting Nismo white decal. Looks absolutely sick. And it looks stock. I've had a billion compliments on it too. Open end lug nuts really transform the look of the wheel as well. You'd think it was an aftermarket wheel almost. Those stock lugs are gaudy and round.
Put it this way, after powdercoating the wheels to black, the amount of looks it got increased even more. Lowering it and the Nismo aero kit helped probably too.
It's like the Nismo rear end. Some people hate on it in pictures, until they see it in person going down the road. And then it's breathe taking.
I had my center console / door pieces done by the same people. The work looks really good but still looks kinda plasticy and fake. I've kept my door pieces bc they look awesome. Wheels / brake calipers... Uh kinda ricey IMO.
Hey everyone. Just painted my wheels recently and just want to get some opinions. They used to be regular aluminum and pretty nasty looking so I decided to paint em. Thanks for lookin!!
