Default Vibrations after wheel spacers install

I did a seach on this issue and found little result. Maybe you veterans can help.

I am currently running on stockers while other wheels are being painted. I had some Ichiba 15mm spacers installed last weekend (longer studs and all). And I have been getting wheel vibrations ever since. I have checked the following:

1) Lug nuts - They are secure and tight
2) Hubcentric-ness - The hubcentric spacers fit the stock wheels perfectly, so there's no play there.

Here's what I found:
The holes on the spacers which the wheels studs go through are larger in diameter than the studs. So although the spacer sits dead center on the hub, it does have some play and can rotate slightly to the left and right (a few degrees each eay). In other words, they are not stud-centric (is that an actual term?)

I think this is the cause of the vibrations. Anyone concur? How do I go about fixing it?

Thanks in advance

that shouldn't matter because the wheel isn't bolted to it, as long as its hubcentric its fine, its probably the stockers, maybe they wore down funny or maybe they are deformed from being stored a certain way

The lugs shouldn't matter unless the lug nuts you are using do not have a tapered end to them.

Vibration should only be caused by an out-of-balance condition around the axis of rotation (hub). If the spacers have play in them about the studs, but it's only rotational, that shouldn't cause an unbalance condition, unless they spacers themselves are not balanced. They would be useless if that was the case.

It is possible that the spacer is not getting bolted on flat (parallel to the surface of the rotor and studs)? That would cause your wheel to be mounted at a slight angle to it's rotation and would cause a wobble.

could it be your wheels? Something may be wrong with the wheels and just happen to come up right after your spacer install.

Can you provide additional information?

1. Where's the problem? Front or rear? Left or right?
2. Is there noise also? Or do you just feel the vibration?
3. Is the vibration all the time? Or only on certain speeds?
4. Is it just during straight line or curves also?

Make sure the lug nuts are torqued correctly? It may not be tight enough, which may be what's causing the vibration.

1. Front for sure. I feel the left side is more pronounced
2. There's noise, but not metal sounds. More like louder road noise (which I thought was just the stock potenzas... I had falken fk452s on my other wheels which are much quieter)
3. The vibration is pretty constant. but it is much more pronounced at 50-60+ mph
4. both.

Very unlikely. The installers were very careful (these are very reputable guys even within the my350z community). And I haven't put the car through anything where the wheels could become damaged. I have been driving on thse stockers for the last 4 weeks, even before the spacers. I did not have vibrations then.

+1, sounds like im having the exact same problem, let me know if you find the cause of the vibration. I started getting it about 2 months after I installed my springs. I'm probably just gonna get my alignment done and see if that fixes it.

I assume if you take the spacers off the problem goes away, right?

Try swapping the front spacers. Does the side with more vibration switch?

Off the wall --but, theres not a possibility that the right was put on the left and Visa Versa?----Rediculous, but happens. Other than that, What Dave says was my first thought, A poor mate on the two Flats ( Spacer to Rotor Face )

Foolish to spend too much time, since u will be getting ur Regs back soon. If u spent time and maybe money, do it on the fresh rims, Mite just be a fluke.

Long as ur lugs are tite ---ur cool for now

Z suspension is not designed for spacer.

I haven't heard about problems with spacers before. There are several members here who use them.

Yes, please do elaborate. Your one line response wets my apetite for (more) useful information.
