Track wheel for a G35
I want to go with the widest but still common R compound wheel/tire combo for my G35 Sedan. It needs to be at least a 245 but I would love to get a 265 all the way around. Willing to run the camber needed to do this. 2.5 negative is fine. I want a 17 or a 18 at the largest. Can anyone help me get in the right direction. It's easy to do the 245 with a 17. I would really like wider for future turbo plans and HPDE events.
Kinda odd that you'd post here since most of the Z guys here won't be up on the in's and out's of a G sedan.

Can't blame me for trying again. I want to get some decent track wheels. I may have to start finding other Z owners in the area and test fittting wheels. I thought about posting this in the motorsports section but decided I would try here. Maybe I should get a mod to move this one.
255/40-18 RT-615 on 8.5" wide 40mm offset
I have the RT-615's on the front with a 8" wide rim and honestly they don't look like they are crying for the extra .5" of rim width, though technically your supposed to have it.

Enkei RPF1 comes in 17 x 8.5 +40 and weighs only 16 lbs. I am not that familiar with sedan fitments, but if a 17 x 9 +43 would work then another option is the 5zigen FN01R-C. The 5zigens are around $200 per wheel and 17.5 lbs. Would 255/40/17's work?

Actually, it might. Now that I know the 8.5 X 18 +40 work I can look into similiar in 17's
This is what you said in the other thread.
My stock tires have a overall diameter of 26.4
If I step down to a 17 then I can run a 255/40-17 that has a 24.8 OD. This would be wider, and hopefully less likely to hit the fender. Knowing your camber setting would help as if I run more camber I can then get more tire from where you are hitting the fender. Or of course the 245/45/17. Seems I have no good choices. And I have zero choices if I want to run stock class in autocross. Not that I do that very much but it's nice to have the option.
255/40-18 Does not have any good R compound tires.

275 will fit in the rear on sedan's with the correct offset, 45mm.
275 will NOT fit on the front of a sedan, no matter how you play with offsets or camber. The answer is a flat out no. Infiniti did not bless us with the front fender/wheelwell widths that the G35 coupe and 350Z have, so again it can't be done.
I have 255/40-18 RT-615's in the front on 35mm offset. They will clear until the tire get's about 3/4" above the top of the fender arch, then they bind on the plastic inner fender trim. They might clear with 5mm additional offset, which would work because their is enough clearance on the inside from the suspension upright.
A 265mm 17" may clear in the front with a 40mm offset and if you move the negitive camber inwards about .5 degree's. Thing is, if you search what you can get in a decent performance tire in 265 and 17", comes up kinda pricey and kinda dry. Either they aren't a tire worth installing, are too short in rolling diameter or they cost more then they should.

i rolled on my stock 18's and didn't get enough traction with 2.1 60 foot times. it was on 235/45/18 bridgestone turanzas.
i think next time i'm getting bfg kdw's for next week's e-town running to hook up better. the OEM 18x7.5" rim are light so i like them
