Falkens COULD be a better tire, but for the amount of sidewall flex that the Kumhos give will make me think that a stiffer sidewall will prevent the flex and stretching a tire will provide a stiffer sidewall.
I have compared a Kumho 215 on a 9" wide tires versus a 225 on a 9" wide tire on the front of a 240sx and the same result occurred. Even talking to the Kumho Engineers when debating between the 215 and 225 on the front of our racecar, the decrease in section width versus the decrease in contact patch provided for better response.
So when I compare a Kumho MX to a Falken RT-615, they both are a great tire in a similar category on price versus performance. Plus I have yet to see evidence of the downsides of running a 265 on a 10.5" wheel.

265/35 on a 10.5 inch rim is acceptable. It becomes more dangerous on multi-piece wheels as the forces the tire applies become more and more lateral as they are stretched, and a force is applied to a part of the wheel which is not designed to hold force.

Well a better definition of offset would be the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the center line of the wheel...that's what represents the offset, and the offset is what determines how far a wheel sits in the wheel well or is pushed out of the wheel well. Don't ask about backspacing though, that's for muscle cars.
