Default different tire F/R question

I just had my new warranty covered potenzas put on the front they are the RE040 that i had before. I need to replace my rear tires and i just wanted to change to the RE050a series.

Do i have to run the same tire front and rear or is it ok to switch em out? I'm no tire expert obviously so i don't know how this would affect wear and handling.

No.

A minor problem is that tires are tested on all corners. Handling is predictable. When you mix and match, the outcome is uncertain. Unless you are a professional driver, I doubt you will notice anything negative.

Just pay attention to speed ratings. cant mix those. re 040's are w which is rated for around 140 if im not mistaken. as the above ^ poster said be aware that it could cause uncertainty.

I thought you can mix tire brands?
as long as you keep the front tires same brand and the rears same brand.

You can. just make sure your speed ratings are the same temp traction etc etc. I just personally wouldnt. but if you are going to mix match brands you are corect do in sets of 2 either front or back same brand dont put 2 diffrent brands on the LR and RR. But on a 40 thousand doller car why risk it? If you own a 350z Your more then likely have enough to keep the right tires on your car???

yes, you can mix them up. however, it's recommanded that you run the same tires all around
