I came across this website just recently....http://www.rollyourfender.com/
was wondering if any of you all have tried/used this gadget to roll their fenders and does it work well??
I'm debating whether I should cut or roll the fenders...I know that everybody recommends to cut the fenders to prevent paint chipping and bubbling but...I was just wondering if this technique would be clean and safe???
thanks

That fender roller works great..Make sure to warm the paint with a heat gun (not to much..lol) or do it in the really warm weather t avoid paint cracking, and go a little bit at a time...
I didn't personally use it but I watched a more experienced person use it on my previous car and it worked pretty well. Even with the heat gun it left some stress marks in the paint (looked like a crack but you couldn't feel it on the surface), but the marks were on the portion of the material that is rolled up and out of sight so it was OK. It's expensive to buy ($300 I think) but some palces rent/loan them out with a holding deposit from the customer.

Whatever you do, do not cut the fenders -- you do not want rust on your fenders. I suggest go to a body shop and find out how much they will charge you to roll the fenders. If it's the same price as renting the rolling tool, I recommend let the experts do it for you. If nothing else, there should be guarantees on the work performed.
I didn't use rollyourfender.com but I got one from someone local. A buddy and I did his car and mine. His took 1.5 hours and mine took 45 mins. It is easy to do. Just take your time. Also we used a rubber mallet to bend the inside lip up a little bit before we rolled it.
