Default anyone drive on 30 series tires?

Used wheels I'm looking at are 19's with 265 and 285/30's. Too skinny? Will I encounter numerous bent rims and the like?

i run 285/35 on an 18" rim and its pushing it. Over time you may bend your rims, just depends on how much chit you encounter. Your not working with much side wall so watch the curb rash.

Don't know how much I agree with that statement. Yes if you hit a decent size pothole you will mess up your rim, but that's true with any rim, just harder to do with more tire and rim quality. I don't think running over small things over time will mess it up. Just be careful where you drive and you should be fine.

My 30 series are fine. Buy a good tire and it will have a lip to help reduce any kind of dents from pot holes. Had mine a year now and hit a few pot holes with no dings or bends.

to calculate tire side wall, multiply the aspect ratio (as a percent) by the width...this is the tire height in mm

example: 275/35/19 (tire width, aspect ratio, rim size)

tire height: 0.35*275 = 96.25 (mm)

*tire width is also in mm, rim size is in inches...
**the #'s reported by tire companie's for their tire sizes are not always exact...you could have a 275/35/19 made by 2 different companies and their tread width may be a little different...kinda look shoe sizes

hmmm.... let me ask your opinion then. I can get 19 inch 9.5/10.5 te37's with almost new S03 265/285 30's. Wheels have some curb rash, but together they are local and I can get for 1900 US. I do love te37's... I'm more of an 18 man myself, but finding 18 inch te37's in 9.5/10.5 is impossible!

So do I, but Canada loves its extra fees. For example, a set of 3000 US rims, becomes 3500 with currency conversion, plus 14 percent tax is 4000, plus 250 shipping from the states, plus duty fees which may be between 100 to 200 dollars depending on their mood.

Now that set of 3000 dollar sweet *** volks is the equivalent of 4500 dollar volks. Because of this damned country. Now add 1500 dollars for tires... and we have 6000 dollars for new shoes.

lol... I hate Canada.

IMO its more important to match stock tire diameter than to do what "looks cool" so 35 series tires are whats called for in those widths
