Alrighty, so those who got new wheels...
...did you ever experience any feathering?
I've searched already and haven't found anyone talk about feathering with new wheels (only stock rims with new tires)
Just wondering cause I'm about to put new rims on and don't wanna expect the worst.

If you look way back in the 03, 04 posts on it, you'll find a few people who still had the problem with different wheels. The fix is a correct alignment, it had nothing to do with wheels themselves.
I had a brand new 2003 350z w/18inch OEM wheels/tires and they were feathering and making a roaring noise at 12000 miles. Nissan replaced the two front tires for free, but the noise came back at about 16000 miles. I just got a great deal on a 2004 350z Roadster w/12000 miles. The front tires on it now are feathering and making that horrible roaring noise when braking. I said oh well and bought the car anyways. I also just bought brand new 19' VOLK SF Challenges w/Toyo Tires. I am putting them on tomorrow and getting an alignment also. Hopefully the tires won't feather, but I am not holding my breath. Anyone have a solution for me? Thanks!
You should have taken the '04 back to the dealer for the "new" TSB to be performed on it. That would have realigned it and replaced the front tires.
You need to make sure whoever does the alignment has their machine calibrated regularly. If the machine is out then your alignment will be too and chances are you'll still have feathering.

Went to the dealer and got the alignment. Still feathering.
I'm going back Monday and asking them to check it out and maybe increase the toe and see if that helps.
I already contacted a lemon lawyer here in NJ since this will be my third time.

I brought mine in and had the alignment and tire swap done. Feathering still occurred then the second TSB came out. It was very explicit in requiring the dealers to provide proof of calibration for the alignment machine. The second alignment showed that my front end was WAY out of alignment. That was the one done by the dealer just a few months earlier. Obviously, the machine was out of whack. Since the second alignment was done (on the just-calibrated machine) I've have no problem with feathering.

Nismozzz,
Did you get two new front tires as well? If the tires are already feathering, which you can clearly see, a front end alignment will not help. They should have done a correct alignment and put on two new OEM front tires. On my 2003 350z all they did was put on two new front tires and didn't do an alignment. The tire feathering came back at about 6000 miles. I didn't care at that point because I ended up selling my 350z right before deploying to Iraq. I have new 19' Volk's and Toyo's now on my 2004 350z. I also got an alignment done at Mr. Tire so hopefully they won't feather because 19' tires are pricey.

Well before this alignment, about 18 months ago I got the two new OEM tires and alignment done, everything was cool.
Until recently when I hear some roaring happening a bit, but it was time for some new rims. I got new rims and tires so I'm not on my OEM rims anymore.
When I go in Monday to see what's up, I'll ask when the machine was last calibrated and see if I can get a print out then post it here. Hopefully I can solve this crap and enjoy doing other mods.
