Hi everyone, Mods if this is in the wrong area, please move as you see fit....
Just picked up a 2004 Super Black Touring - Love It
Unfortunately it came with the simple stock 17's that we see everywhere. I am looking to upgrade in a few months, but I can't decide on the 18/19's Rays that are stock on the 2006/7's or just biting the bullet and going after market?
My price range is around $2500 for rims (wheels) and tires, maybe a bit more but not over $3,000 if possible.
Can someone enlighten me on the benefits of either. I would love nice beefy tires, great handling, silver, maybe deep lips and a nice aggressive stance; staggered if of course.
I know a lot of people are going to lean towards Volks, but I'm not a huge fan; no offense to anyone.

Thanks to everyone in advance.....

Ah ha, very nice....
Any benefit over either? I know that adding 22's to my suv killed the ride quality...

If I don't get the Ray's -

I'm actually leaning more towards the 7 spoke design or gloss black with a nice silver lip; yes I know it's been overdone like crazy, but it looks so sweet!

For performance, I doubt is you will see a difference between 17, 18 and 19 inch wheels. What you will see is a weight difference between cast and forged wheels, and weight effects performance. Members might argue that, say, 275 mm of rubber on the road is better than 245 mm. Sounds realistic, but 275 mm of crap tires is just that - crap. For performance, search a wheel less than 20 pounds.
For looks, I haven't the faintest idea.

To the OP. If your not in a rush for rims. You will most definetly find a good deal. I got my new (to me) wheels for under 3k with new tires. You are in Cali, all the good wheel deals are out there (thats where my wheels came from).
Be patient and you will save some green
Also check out g35driver classifieds too. Not everybody over there post their wheels here.

Honestly I don't drag, race or run my Z too hard; it's my daily driver and sometimes my back up ride depending on the day. I just want a size and offset that gives the Z an aggressive stance. I was thinking of either
18 x 8 (f) & 18 x 10 (r) IF possible
or
19 x 9/9.5 (f) & 19 x 10/ 10.5 (r)
Something along those lines with nice beefy tires that will compliment the Z well. Maybe what I really should have asked was about offsets etc., which I have searched like crazy for and found a lot of flaming, bickering and no real answers.

Those would be sick on your car. With tires you could be under 3k
