Rim & Tire Trends - What are you tired of?
Being a recent Z owner I have been extensively researching rim and tire combos. I was looking at black 18's or 19's in a staggered formation to match my super black with a deep chrome/silver lip - But everyone and everything seems to have that setup.
Are there any rim and tire trends which you are sick of or don't feel will last long? I am personally tired of chrome rims; they are starting to look extremely cheap and cheesy.
This is not intended to start a flame war or anything of the sort; just want to get a feel for things around here- hopefully we can keep it civil and not step on each other's toes.
To quote Nexx: "different strokes for different folks" - yes indeed my friend... yes indeed...

different strokes for different folks. only thing i personally dont like are all black wheels. just not a big fan of the "4 spares" or "i lost all my hub caps" look. looks fine on a track only car but for daily drivers, i just dont think it looks right.

Get some steel wheels with Toyota Corolla hubcaps....them is badass..
Don't forget to remove one of them just for the missing effect though
Seriously though I like just normal silver rims...even the current stock ones are hott

Everybody says there getting tires of volks and black with polished lips and all because so many people have them (ON HERE). This is a community where people with the same car get together from all over the country and world in some cases. I’m not, I know enough people in the car scene in my area to know not everybody has volks and the certain models everybody is talking about. If I see another Z with rims its a rare occasion. Each to his own if you like it do it.

True indeed, this is a community exclusive to our choice of car, but it's quite interesting to see that Volk Rims are becoming a staple and in many cases, the signature wheel for the 350z.
I started this thread to give people an opportunity to speak out on the trends and fads that are getting a bit sickening. Yes each person holds their own cards in this, but there are some things that are just faux pas when it comes to anything as passionate as owning a car such as the 350z.
So far no one has gotten out of hand with their comments and I want to say I thank everyone for their input and maturity on this touchy subject; whenever you discuss "style" and "taste" it becomes a slippery slope.
Once again, not a "what looks better than..." or "Does this look good" thread, just a place to sound-off, learn and express.
Some "noobs" such as myself, are in the process of searching for mods etc. and do not wan to live in a world full of carbon copies of our rides; we want to be as individual as we can be but not sacrifice quality for this.

I think the biggest "faux pas" for ANY tuner/ luxo-cruiser car, not just the 350z, would be ride height and offset.
Why go to great lengths to put these expensive aftermarket wheels on your car, then leave enough wheel gap to fit a grapefruit between the tire and funnel. (Magnum and Chrysler 300C owners are the biggest violators. No offense).
Then there are the wheels that are completely tucked in because the owner didn't research the offsets.
