Default Tire dilemma - bought a Z with Blizzaks

I just brought home an '03 Performance (love it!)

Here's the problem: the car has Blizzak LM-22s on it - I didn't notice this when I bought it (I know, I know, I should have....). At first, when I noticed the tires I thought "sweet, I was going to have to buy snow tires anyway." However, after the down payment, taxes, etc there's not a whole lot of room in the budget for new tires. I know I shouldn't run snow tires year round, but I may not have any choice for a while - is it all that bad?

when the weather warms up they'll get really soft and wear out extremely quickly. Get another set of wheels asap, or try to find someone to trade you for some all seasons or something

And once Blizzaks wear around half way they are useless in winter.

Everybody is saying the same thing for a reason. The Blizzaks will go fast in the hot weather and then you will need to buy summer tires anyway followed by another set of snows in the fall. WAAy more expensive. Good luck.

I bet if you hook up with some local Z owners, someone has a set of stockers they would sell for cheep. Heck, you practically can't give away the 17s these days.

No but you are seriously compromising the handling of the 350Z.

Hey, I PMed you about the tires. I'm in a market for a winter set so if you're looking to sell, I can throw some cash your way and pick them up from you. I'm only about 45 minutes away from you.

well think of it this way. you buy a set of new tires after your blizzaks wear out..which can end up being by the end of this year. So you have to invest money in new blizzaks for the winter...

or...just buy summer tires and keep your blizzaks for the winter. Either ways..you have to spend money.

Spend your money now to save later or save your money to spend more later. Thats what it comes down to.
