Default Good inexpensive tires

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the less expensive tires. I am needing some 19's and I really dont want to spend a thousand bucks for tires unless it's necessary.

No such thing as good inexpensive tires. I bought kuhmo ASX tires They're cheap, and they're decent grippy, but after 10k miles, im almost at 1/2 wear. Thats horrible for a all season tire.

General Exclaim UHP.
Has good reviews from customers on tirerack and with tread rating of 380..means it will surely last longer than most tires out there.

Best bang for the buck is the Falken FK-451 tires, bar none. Tons of sizes to boot.

Your bound to give up something...milage, grip, comfort, etc.

Tires are the last area I'd skimp on.

that is one of the best kept secrets around, prices will now go up as demand goes up. i'd better order mine before they jack the price up again. They were under a hunfred dollars each not too long ago.

It's the price that you pay for having 19" wheels.

The General Exclaim UHP is a decent tire, but the reviews are scewed a bit because of the "parada factor" - basically, most people that are getting the General UHP are getting them as their first set of low profile hi-po tires bc they are cheaper and compared to what came on the car OE with their 15 or 16 inche wheels, the UHP is awesome. THat's how it gets good reviews. Put it up to a Mich PS2 or Bridgestone PolePosition and it's not nearly as good.

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS is great and one of the best all season tires that works for the z is the Bridgestone RE960 AS Pole Posistion! It's a great tire and has a warranty so it'll last longer.

True...why would you want all-season on the Z though? All-Season tires are really a compromise...they give you less handling to be all season, but give you less all season capability to still maintain some handling. If you want you Z to handle the best or the way it should, go with an ultra/max performance tire and snows in the winter if you must.

Falken RT-615's. Not sure if they make them in your size though.

I would just go buy some Toyo Proxes T1Rs! Don't skip out on tires bro. Oh and by the way, it IS necessary, you will love the way your Z feels and also a peace of mind knowing that your tires - the only part of your Z that touches the road - are the best available.

How could you even compare a Federal Tire with a Bridgestone tire??? I've never even heard of Federal tire...there are a lot of cost cutters on this forum when it comes to tires...everyone has Toyos?!?!?! Bridgestone tires are one of the best tires out there. Most people don't like their OE tires, that's a given, but you can't really compare other tires to the OE RE040s for a couple of reasons.

1. Car manufacturers never put the best tires on cars bc they are trying to save dollars to keep the cost down as much as possible.
2. The Z is under-tire'd with the stock set up anyway. It needs a little wider set up.
3. The earlier model 350 had alignment issues that had nothing to do with the tires, but some people put blame in the tire.
4. The OE RE040's wore out fast on the rear bc most people were so giddy over having their Z that they drove the shiit out of it.

Remember, lower threadwear usually means better grip. Traction ratings are done in the wet anyway by dragging a tire thru a wet skid pad. Is the RE040 the best tire imo, no, but it's not a half bad one. The RE050's are coming stock now, are people going to start hating them? They come on the Z, Porsche, Ferrarri, S2000, among others. I have the new Pole Positions and so far i think they are sweet.
