For 13 yrs. I drove a balloon-tired Pathfinder and had no idea what 'wheel-rash" was. I couldn't believe a small miscalculation would cause so much indigestion. Luckily it wasn't that bad...but it's there.

I curbed my stockers last fall parking at a friends condo. It was a tiny tiny scratch about one square millimeter but i was still pissed. I'd probably go postal if something happened to my 19" LMGT4's.

For local guys, hit up Rick@Status. He repaired the HRE's that were on my cousins 996TT. The curb rashes were really bad on them and after they repaired it, it came out looking 100 times better.

ahhh, how I hate curbage.

I have one that was from me, others were from my ex.

I had just got done working on a system problem at a hospital and had been there for over 36 hours straight. I was damn tired and I was coming out of the parking garage. Some asshat had moved the cones UP on the curb instead of where they should have been below the curb to warn ppl.

That along with lack of sleep/food I was about to go postal

I still get sick when I look at it.

Every so often I still get the urge to put chrome rims on the Brick (Hey, can't help it; I'm from the 60s). If I do, at least I'll have gotten the rim scapes out of my system! LOL!

1 sq. millimeter is about 1/3 the size of a BB. If that is a rash, my poor Z is totaled

I wasn't thinking about the wheels when I was taking my car to the car wash. Unfortunately the "runner" that guides the vehicles through the was tall enough to rub and I got curb rash without ever hitting a curb. It's not too bad, but it's there.

Last week after work I went to Chinatown to grab some quick dinner. After driving a rental car for 10 days (vacation) I lost some familiarity with my car. Needless to say, I ploughed into a curb while parallel street parking. The best way of describing how I felt at that time would be like the last scene in Braveheart where Mel Gibson had his entrails pulled out of him in the public execution courtyard.

That is something for us all to keep in mind. I was tempted once to go through one on a trip. I'm glad I didn't as I paid no attention to whether it had those side rails or not. I saw a do-it-yourselfer across the street.

I put about a one inch thin gash on my right rear wheel last week leaving the bank drive thru...i got out and looked at it and was just sick about it. those drive thru's suck. the island extends out about four feet after you leave the teller/tube deal..i got stupid and didnt look, and drove off to the right..then the gash!..and really... theres no reason for it to be there. they oughta make the edges out of rubber or something a little more friendly.. certainly not concrete! same with all drive thru's...Mcdonalds etc. sucks!
