Default Got 285 rears?

I know I have seen it somewhere - but I am just checking...there are some of us who have put 285s in the back... right? I am considering 245s front & 285s in the rear. Oh, with a set of iForged Aeros. Is there anything special that needs to be done with this set-up, or can I expect iForged to be able to hold my little hand. Also, any problems in anyone's opinion regarding the 285s in the back? They are just so nice and plump. I'd like to have some fat tires.

I have 245Front and 285Rears but in 17" and there is lots of room.
I am running +35 offsets front and rear.
No problems or rubbing of any kind.

you didnt specify rim size 18 or 19.

either way, the 275/40 for 18" just matches up to stock diameter so perfectly, but nothing wrong with 285/40, their a bit thinner of a selection tho.

i've got the performance model which came with 18's . I'm staying with 18s. Ok this is good. "no problems' is a good thng. This is gonna be a bit of dough...don't wanna do something dumb. I saw a porsche 911 with 285/30/18s in the back & 225/30/18 in the front. The rears looked jus so good. I'm just a sucker for FAT rear tires! What can I do. Ha!

me too me too. 285/40/18 should do fine for you. I could only imagine what that would be like with 225 fronts, under steer much?

A 911 has about 60% of it's weight over those rear tires.

Default it will work!

I got 295/35-18 rears and 275/35-15 fts with no problems what so ever. You can drop it with that size with Eibach (1.2" drop) and still no problems. Don't worry, your Z can easily handle 285's. Go for it if you like, if i would have put 275's on mine, i would have never been happy because I like the big tire look. Now, is someone going to flame me because they got the 245/275 combo most people have? I hope we are mature enough to allow for personal differences. Otherwise, Nissan better start making only one model, one color, no options...

i was going to go with 285/30/20 in the rear but vince from iforged suggest that i go with 275 just to be sure that i didn't rub. don't know how much of a difference there is between the Z and the G but they should be pretty close.

I got a suggestion for you. There is a guy that post here name either wheelmaker or hrewheelmaker and he does all the measuring for HRE and he measures every nice car that comes out. I am sure he can tell you with certainty if 285's will go on a G35 or not. My bet is no problem...

... and 285/18s would fit nicely on 10-inch wide wheels? Would that be correct?

Yes, I got 9" fts, 10" rears. I posted a pic for you below FYI. !0" wheels in the rear are the right call for a 285 and if you want, you can bump up to a 295 if so desired. good luck, Jeff

you could put 285 on 9.5" too I would imagine. since the sidewall isnt insanely thin, it should be fine.

Zland, thanx for that image. They look great. I guess those are Toyo Proxes. That's exactly what I plan to get too. Nice plump rear rubber on a sports car that you personally get to drive has to rate up there in the top ...what 10 or 25 reasons to be thankful for having disposeable income! Yeah, I think that's the plan, 9s in the F & 10s in the R. Now, all I need to do is start collecting coke bottles to save the deposit money & I'll be set! I think this will happen this summer.
