20" in the Back, 1" in the front??
Hey, I was thinking of staggered rims, 20/19. Has anyone done this? Is it a good Idea?
I think it would look cool but I dont know if it would negatively affect performance.
Also, I want to get rims that are really deep-dish. I want a pretty decent lip on the front too. (I was hoping for like 3"in fron and 5" in back)
Can anyone suggest rims size/width/offset that may achieve this look?
Thanks very much,
Marc

That combination will work, however ther are some things to keep in mind:
(1) To maintain stock specs in the rear you will need to get toe bolts and radius arms; SPC are industry standards
(2) To maintain stock specs in the front you will need to get adjustable A-arms ; Cusco / SPC are good pieces
(3) For tires I would suggest no more than 285's out back and 255's up front. You may have to roll the fenders depending on the wheels you get.
(4) For wheels maximum offset should be +22 with no more than 19x9's up front and 20x 10.5's out back

Staggered refers to wheels with different widths or offsets front to rear.
It is possible to have 20"/19". You will need to be careful so that the wheels do not rub. It may also negatively effect handling to some extent and, if you are not careful, cause your VDC/TPS to come on under conditions of no slip. To reduce this, I'd try to get the tire setup as close to spec as possible. But with 19/20 this probably means running a unique combination.
But, with that said, yes, it is possible.

Question-
If he's running w/stock suspension, would he still need toe bolts and radius arms in the front and adjustable A-arms in the rear? I have my car dropped 1.3F and 1.0R, so they're on my 'to do' list.

You definitely need them. Any drop > 1" and even many drops < 1" require at least camber kit and an alignment to get the car back in spec. Do yourself a favor and buy the kit so you don't have to replace feathered tires in a month.

255/35/19 front and 285/30/20 rear are stock diameters. it won't affect the VDC or ABS, trust me, I've been running these sized for about 15k miles now without a single problem.

ive been contemplating the same thing as the OP. but was concerned with rolling the fenders. im planning on getting the tein basic setup with this.
after thinking it all over i wanna do it, but im gonna going to get the camber arms, wheels, coilovers, and some gt spec bars all at the same time.
i will be checking in on this thread later for more input.
