Default My Volks #$#ked up by AutoBody

Okay the Autobody did a super job on my car, however during detailing the car they sprayed some shi# on the rims and the lips got fogged up. Well instead of calling me to tell me they just took off the clear coat and polished the wheels. Now, don't get me wrong they were shinny as a ***** but no clear = shinny = oxidation. I waxed the shiZ out of them and you can still see a light foggy haze. Well with that and my dumb as@ hit a curb this weekend I dropped off the rims to be fixed at Action Tire in Little Ferry NJ. Here is where I need help, they guy says to me I might as well switch up the color of the lips since they have to take the wheel apart to fix the curb rash and re-clear.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT GLOSS BLACK LIPS WITH COLOR MATCHED CENTER SPOKES. I have the GTS.

Pic is bare AL waxed waxed and waxed.

Hmmm... I'm afraid if you painted the lips gloss black they might just blend in with the tires and make the rims look small. Just my 2 cents.

that would look hideous...keep it how it is. A good polishing at the wheel repair place should do the trick

I would have them re-clear coated and send the bill to the body shop.

Well this is the thing, they did an excellent job on the car but they did fuc# up the rim, however it is an aftermarket rim and I know they didn't do it on purpose. You have to pick and choose your fights and perhaps a bodyshop as good as these guys might not be the one to pick. I would have thought they would offer something for the problem and they did offer to 3m clear bra the car for 800, now I think thats not bad however I am not sure.

Anyway thats not the case right now, the case is my rims are at the shop and I need to figure out what I want to do with them.

I agree, pick and choose, but this is one I would pick.

I mean, they messed up the lip by putting the wrong substance on it. Instead of fessing up and offering to fix it, they decided they would take the clear coat off and polish the lip without asking. Those Volks are some very expensive wheels.

But, to each his own.

Anyhow, would look good polished and color-matched. Or diamond black.
