Default 265/35 18" or 255/40 18"

I don't know if anyone ask the same question but, can I put 265/35 tires in my 18x8 Performance/Touring wheels or the 255/40?

Thanks!

Sounds like you are pushing the limits. Check your owners manual to learn the width of your wheels. I think they are 8". Then go to tirerack.com and you will be able to see if your tire selection will fit the wheels. Good luck!

245 is the widest that can fit on a 8" rim. 255 = 8.5", 265 = 9"

more or less yes, kinda confusing but there are ~24mm per inch. while obviously 245mm>10 inches, it will fiton a 8" rim, Ive never understood why or how, but it does. however you cant go any wider, if you add 10mm your adding ~half an inch, and can thus fit it on a half inch wider tire.

there is some leeway, Ive seen 255 on the stock 8" tires(the bow out a bit on the sidewall, but it can be done), but then again consider that 225 will fit on 8" tires, as thats whats used on the front. 265 would be overdoing it, 275s are standard for 9.5" rims.
