Default 19" Prophet 's On Lemans???

Besides the fact that they are not made by Volk, HRE, or some other crazy high priced brand name what do you think about the look for them on the Z? Personally I think a 6 or 7 spoke is the best route for the Z and looking through some new wheels that are not as common as the Volk's etc. these kind of caught my eye.

I just looked through the gallery and I swear just about 55% of them are Volks! Nothing wrong with that cause they are some sick *** wheels! But Im just looking for something that will be different, not as common, and esp. not $600-1000 per wheel before even looking at tires!

With those in mind, what do you guys think about the new 19" Prophet's?

i think they look nice in design. that being said, will they hold up and look and perform as they should after months of use? im sure if they were volk's, everyone would say they are awesome. but with them being konig's, people will automatically rule them out. which, if high quality is a concern, they should.
payless shoes look as nice as nike's out of the box, but after walking through the rain a couple of times, you can see why they were a fraction of the price.

Yep.

I think they LOOK good. No experience with Konig, so I can't comment on their quality. I've seen a lot of these on a lot of Civics, Integras, and RSXs though, so while you may be unique to the Z crowd, I certainly wouldn't call this an exclusive wheel design.

Im not concerned about Civics, Integras, and RSXs since we are talking Z's here? I know its not an exclusive wheel at all, didnt even mention that...its about exclusive as a CS Enthusiast Z is But I have not seen or heard of a Z with them so far! That is the point / question

Sorry man, I really wasn't trying to offend you. I understand completely where you are coming from in wanting a lower cost wheel. In fact I just started a thread to discuss that very thing. HERE

You said you wanted something "different, not as common." I was just letting you know that they aren't unique on all cars like they are on the Z. I'm also not implying that they are only for ricers, as I have much respect for the RSX, Integra, and an occasional Civic. Seriously, no offense intended.

I think those rims are hot..... If they came in a staggered setup, i.e. 19x8.5(f) & 19x10(r) w/ a 3" lip, then I would be all over them ****'s.... I think 19x8 is the widest they come, I could be wrong tho.....

I like them, My lil bro has a RSX-S and he is thinking about getting these as well, I really like them.

I have experience with Konig, I had some tantrums on my Civic Si, I ran 205/40/17 (the LOWEST ACTUAL sidewall profile out there), My sis was driving the car and smacked some HUGE cunstruction hole in the road, the TIre went flat, the wheel was slightly dented (she went back to take a pic, and it was 3-4" deep with a sharp/square edge).

Later, I was hit on the passenger door when driving thru a light, the car was totalled, The car jumped up in the air and did a 180degree spin and landed. Before the Insurance company got ahold of it, I put some CHEAP civic wheels/hub caps on it, so I could keep the wheels and tires for my old civic. I ran if for another year and one of the spokes finally broke, I was pissed at first then realized that I am running wheels that have been on a car that was in a BIG accident, and understood. Actually, after looking back on it, I was surprised that the wheel didn't break during the accident.

If I were looking for a budget wheel, I would consider Konig (based on my experiences).

btw, the Prophets are about 2x the money as the tantrums, I have heard that Konigs have gotten stronger recently.

I've only ever seen two occasions where wheels failed, one at an auto-x, and I don't know what brand or how old they were, and the other were mine. Price has little to do with whether a wheel will fail or not. These are the BMW factory optional 18s that were on our 2000 323Ci. It was dawn, and I hit a 6" granite rock in the road with both right side tires, and these are the results.

no I think your right ..man that sucks! so what would the correct tire set-up front and rear using 8s all around? Still stagger the tires or just keep them all even?

I dont reccomend Konigs for a Z either. I had imagines on my Prelude bent 2 of them driving over moderately sized pot holes. They are heavy too!
