Default Goodbyes to my GT-S...other things are more important

Well, this is my goodbyes to my Volk GT-S. Unlike others who left the GT-S for the GT-Fs - which I still haven't gotten used to - I'm changing to 06-07 Rays GT wheels. It's going to be really sad letting my wheels go but right now there are other priorities that is forcing me to take this step.

After looking at the pics of the GT wheels over and over again I think this will be a good move for me financially and the wheels themselves are very sweet as well. I think it'll also help take away from the bling factor and but it more in line with cleaner lines, a bit less agressive, and hopefully less looks from thieves.

I got a couple more days left with my wheels before the payment for my wheels comes in and it'll be finalized. Either way, I still believe the GT-S is the sexiest wheels to ever be produced for the 350z. It is hands down the bets fitment, design, and style anyone can buy for their Z and it'll always be the classiest wheels for anyone to buy! I'll miss you Volk GT-S!

The specs for the 06 Rays are here...eventually I'll try to buy new GT-S but it'll be a while before I can spend that kind of money on wheels. Especially when performance wise I can't complain with the GT Rays.

Just sharing I actually had a sale thread up for 3 days, then I changed my mind and took it down. However a member got my number and called me to offer a trade of cash + his GT 06 wheels with only 1.2k miles. After thinking hard I finally agreed so as soon as he sent me money on Monday the deal is done.

the GT wheels look good. my only concern with your car alvin, are the offsets. with your nismo kit, the offsets are very important. i hope they are aggressive enough to complement your car.

Yeah bro I know, I might get some 10mm spacers soon bro. Thanks for the support. It's good to know you think they'll go well with my car

BTW I'm moving to Austin next year and will be in Houston a lot visiting my family there too I have been in Houston for two weeks now. Hopefully the weather won't be as bad in Austin year round haha

Tires and wheels combined with 255/35/19 and 285/35/19 the fronts are 53 lbs and the rears 54 lbs each. The GT series wheels are all forged barrels with a cast face therefore they're not going to be as light as the fully forged monoblocks like the TEs.

You're getting confused. The forged rays on the 350z GT are forged monoblocks. They aren't 2 piece like the GT series volk wheels

Okay nevermind. I went back a read I thought the question was regarding the GTS wheels. He was talking about the OEM Grand Touring wheels. My bad. What I said is 100% true just about the wrong wheels. From my understanding the 03-05 track wheels were the lightest.

Yeah I'm not quite sure why they're heavy like that but I wil weigh them again when I get them, the info could be wrong. I will miss my GT-S dearly but I think the Forged Monoblock Rays are really great looking and performance wise they're better (forged monoblock is stronger than 2 piece with only forged outer).

Taking away my financial problem is a lot better than wheels. Sometimes in life sacrifices are worth it

I'm gonna miss your wheels Alvin. But you got some great track/performance wheels in return.

Call me sometime; we'll go cruising. Oh btw I got a surprise $200 dollar check in the mail today so I can afford to take you out LOL.

They are relatively heavy because of their size. IIRC the 19" OEM Infiniti g35 coupe wheels are ~20lbs. The GT wheels are wider in the front and rear, and the spokes look pretty fat which contributes to the weight

Sorry to hear that man. I really liked the look of you car. As for Houston, the weather is unpredictable. Drop me a line when you're in town man.
