Noct, that is more like it, those wheels are MUCH MUCH closer in design, but as you said, EVERYBODY seems to copy each other.

I didn't have the problems that others have had about Vince and his survice, I am ONLY a 1 population sample size, so it is not very good, BUT I had a different expereince.

Let me tell you how my expereince went.

E-mailed Vince and wanted to meet him and see the plan (Intro wheels, btw, I don't think that Vince is hiding that he is invloved with the intro wheel factory, since, after all, he did have "intro" on the original cars, and "iForged" means "introForged", if anything that helped me feel better about the wheels, they had many many other wheels at the factory and MANY very expensive truck wheels and hot rod, SUV, etc.....wheels, the other surprising thing was that these WHEELS were BUILT for MANY MANY other companies (in other words Intro builds the wheels and brand X puts thier name on it, MUCH like Vince does, many of these are very expensive companies and offer great quality, unlike the china/taiwan wheels we see on Civics, etc........again, that to me, was a GOOD thing).

SO I meet Vince at the plant, he shows me around, shows me some of his wheels, how they are made and lets me take pics, etc....he was in the process of building a group buy for a Vette Forum and a Porsche group (those wheels were VERY nice)

So, I go home decide what I want and offsets. I send in my fax, he NEVER charges my CC. I called when the wheels were supposed to be done, they weren't quite done, but were done about a week and a half later. I went to the factory and picked them up, all boxed up professionally and waiting. I open the BOXES to MAKE sure the quality was good, lets just say that I had a BIG smile on my face , they were better than I thought they would be. I couldn't wait to RUN over to the tire shop and get the tires mounted.

The only problem I had with the way my experience went was that sometimes I didn't get RIGHT to Vince, he has an office in Glendale, BUT the phone # is to his cell phone, which to me is fine, since he usually answers (if it just went to a big corperate office, and you leave a messege, many times I have dealt with companies that still wouldn't return your call, so in my opinion, it isn't much different). the other problem I had was that I would leave e-mails and I wouldn't get an answer for a few days (but I have an e-mail into my best freind about getting some other Home Audio products, he is in the bussiness and I get GREAT deals from him) and he hasn't replied in 3 weeks. Some people just don't look at thier e-mails EVERYDAY (actually MOST don't). I also understand that Vince is busy trying to make his business grow, and he is at a lot of car shows, etc...

let me say, that I was ALSO considering Racing Hart C5 wheels, going through DAZZMOTORSPORTS (they are a distributor and NOT a retailer, BUT my family is in the business and we have an account with them, etc......so I go with them), for the wheels I wanted they weren't avail for 6-8 weeks (had to wait for shipment from Japan) and I was also considering VOLKs, again it was going to take me over 4 weeks to get them, so EITHER way, I was going to wait. I just look at it and think, "hay, if I want a GREAT deal, I can't complain, I could go pay FULL retail and get it ASAP, but that would be foolish on my part).

it should also be noted that Like Vince, MANY MANY other markets us a "builder" to construct a product and put other companies name on it (in the mass market bike industry, there are ONLY like 3 bike plants in the world, everybody else just puts thier name on it, similar is the case with tires, and even cars now (just don't tell an Austin Martin Owner "hey, nice Ford". You see, it is VERY rare for a company to build thier own PRODUCTS from the ground up these days (even HRE sources to hoop part of their wheels out to a different vendor, and the paint/finish to another, so basically HRE builds the center portion of the wheels designs them, cuts them and mounts them in the pre BUILT hoop and has them painted/finished at another location-no big deal, like I have said, it is VERY common), I could go on about many different industries and how they do similar things, but won't waste my time, all I am saying is that Vince isn't hiding the fact that he works with Intro and that this is a common way to do business (as far as the workers ONLY working on his wheels during off hours, I don't know about that, since I went up 2 time, once at 1pm and another at 10 am, and I was helped by the employees with my iForged stuff, so I assume that those were bussiness hours, BUT maybe not, perhaps those were OFF hours for them, I don't know??).

All I can say is that I didn't have NEARLY as bad of an expereince as some have expressed with iForged, it wasn't perfect, but MOST of the time I don't get perfect service with ANYthing I buy, so it wasn't a big deal to me. If those accounts are fact, I would hope that if Vince expects to grow as a company and make customers happen, he corrects the problem (maybe hiring 2 more employees is a step in the right direction, I don't know)

I will try to explain

the 3 piece consists of
1.the center/face portion that is machined (the part that the design is cut out of and welded/bolted onto the below parts.

the HOOP portion of the wheel consists of 2 sections
1.the LIP that can be cut to adjust lip size and width of the wheel

2.the back part of the hoop (hte part that you don't see as much, behind the face. this portion and the lip are welded together to create a complete hoop.

The advantage is that the lip can be adjusted a bit more for cars that require a VERY VERY specific size or is customized buy the owner (so basically, it can be more adjustable). Also I imagine if you curbed or bent the wheels, you could JUST replace the lip portion of the HOOP vs the TOTAL hoop (like on a 2 piece) or the TOTAL wheel (like a 1 piece).

a 2 piece wheel has

1. the center/face that is bolted/welded to the hoop

2.the hoop portion that is a continuous piece (no seperate lip and rear portion of the wheel)

because the slightly more simple design/less pieces and labor, the 2 piece are slightly less expensive and slightly more restictive about how custom a lip size and wheel width can be used.
I am sure it can be discribed better with proper terminology, perhaps HREWHEELMAKER or iForged could jump in and correct me.

find a truely forged rim, and it will be the same as the next, as the next. assuming same sizes.

only differences are going to be style of the rim determining how much material is used. and thus weight. but the difference will be in ounces not lbs.

just as long as its really forged all the way. again, when in doubt, ask here.

First, I appreciate the help from rodH in stating his experience with iForged.

Second, I like to thank KJ-350 for putting our now famous name on all the boards. He has stated correctly few of the facts but has come to the wrong conclusion.

iForged stands for IntroForged. The name was changed per IntroWheel request so not to cause any confusion between two companies. We have no need to cover this fact and you are welcome to tell anybody, anywhere.

HRE knock-off: Well. We use many same sources to produce the forged wheel so I do not know what you mean by knock-off. If you mean we produce similar quality product and provide them at more reasonable price I would like to thank you for the support.

As far as ripping off people I have no idea what you are inferring to. We have no record of ever charging KJ-350 $2,800.00. Please fax me your proof and I will take care of it personally. And yes thanks to you Irvine detective did come to see us and said we did not rip off anybody. You are more than welcome to contact them.

IntroWheels produce the wheels for us using our design and we are a substantial customer of IntroWheel. IntroWheel had some production delay because iForged business has grown substantially and IntroWheel could not keep up with the demand. The production process has been adjusted for the current higher volume. IFORGED HAS THE HIGHEST PRIORITY FOR WHEEL PRODUCTION. You are welcome to verify my claim.

iForged is one man show: Actually there are five people including Vince. He works for me.

If you have question regarding any of these matters please contact me at Fong@CyanGroup.

Fong Lin, President Cyan Group (DBA iForged)

Truth will always prevail.

Question Iforged experience

I have to share my Iforged experience.
I purchased 3piece 19's for a different car not the 350Z 6months ago. I faxed the order in and from the time of faxing to delivery date was about 6 to 7 weeks. Not bad at all. Yes, Vince was very busy all the time. I could tell when I would call him from the tone of his voice but he was never rude. To keep it short it was a good experience EXCEPT for a big flaw that I noticed while washing my car 1 week later. The rivets on one wheel were different depths! The rivets started out normal height and then gradually got deeper and deeper into the rim the more you went around it. You can only notice it when you get close to the wheel.
So my wheels are not perfect and I could not wait any longer to send them back because I needed to drive my car. My other wheels were already sold.

No, I did not pay HRE prices but I'm quite sure HRE's quality inspections would have caught that BIG problem.

Would I order from Iforged again, theres a good chance I WOULD because of price and I'm sure that mistake wouldn't happen again. Although, I am open to other options like Volk Sf Winning! So they haven't stopped me from shopping.

And all those bad things you hear about Iforged, it didn't stop me from doing business with them. I don't know why alot of other sites talk smack about them but they do. Either its true or theres alot of angry jealous people out there. ALOT!

If anyone is unhappy with their Iforged...I'll be more than happy to take them off your hands. Their the best looking wheels on the 350z for the money and I need to get some 19's quick....
