Default any possible way to tell if rims were stolen?

Since rims seem to be commonly ripped off any products out there that can track down stolen rims? microchips or any other tags?

I am about to buy some stock 18s for my sunset but how do I know if the dude sellin ripped em off someone? (besides the obvious e.g. he has his own 350z sittin in the driveway on dubs...some peeps selling the rims dont own 350s, they just B.S they sellin for a friend)

its a sad thing, but it falls under my vegetarian arguement, if he doesnt buy them, someone else will, one things for sure, not EVERYONE is going to not buy a stolen set of rims, and that guy will not stop doing it.

take the deal, tell god your sorry if thats your thing. move on with you nice new rims.

yes Id be hella pissed if someone stole my rims, but if they do, I sure hope that one of you gets a damn good deal on them so someone gets them.

the thing to look at is how cheap they are, how much of a rush he's in, where he is from, and his method of selling. if it bothers you, tell him youll give him 20$ extra if he gives you a picture of the car they came off of, with the new rims. 20$ ought to more than cover the cost of a photo. should have no reason not to secure a sale, and get an extra 20$ if he's for real.

Too bad your rims are already gone Ares- go check your car and you'll see that I took them.

Point of clarification: If you buy rims you know were stolen, you're guilty of a crime, too. As long as you're TOTALLY ignorant, you're in the clear.

In any case, at what point does morality play a part here? Do you guys think its ok to knowingly buy stolen goods simply because someone else will anyway? The law doesn't think so. Is it ok for me to steal someone's rims, if I, for instance, knew someone else was going to steal them?

Just thought I'd throw some of this out there...

I thought you bought the other set of gunmetals from Gruppe-S.
You can get center caps from StreetSports (www.streetsports.com). Call them and ask for Audra- she can get them shipped to you pretty quickly. I got mine in like two days

Nice rationalization.

In truth every person who buys stolen goods (or makes NO effort to avoid them) is doing his/her part to increase demand for stolen goods. It is simple supply and demand. If stolen goods were harder to sell there would be less reason to steal them.

For each person like you there is a corresponding person who had his wheels stolen.

This is a very liberating point of view. I like it.

Somebody else will do it, so I might as well do it first.

Let's see, how can I apply this new philosophy???

Somebody else will probably steal from my employer, so I might as well steal from him first.

Somebody else will treat minorities with racism, so I might as well do it first.

Somebody else will steal from the elderly, so I might as well do it first.

Somebody else will rip off stock holders, so I might as well rip them off.

Man this is fun. I can do anything I want as long as someone else is as much of a low-life as I am!

Wooohoooo!!!!!
