Hyper black finish on Emotion CR Kai
***This thread is NOT to start a "what wheel is better" war. There have been enough of those and I've read most of them!!!!!***
My dilemma:
I Love the Work Emotion CR Kai and Rota Torque style. I think they would look very nice on my Z. I admit, it would be nice to say I own WORK wheels. The upscale 'feeling' would be fantastic. But they don't come in a hyper black (black chrome like) finish, only the matte gun metal. I really much prefer the finish on the Rota Torques. And for the day-to-day driving, NON-track use that my Z goes through, the Rotas I'm sure will be more than fine.
Question:
Can I get the Work Emotion CR Kai's refinished in a hyper black or is that something that the wheel is actually made of and not a 'paint'? How much would something like this cost if it's possible?
Matte gunmetal Work Emotion:

Shiny gunmetal Rota Torque:

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,
Normally wheels are painted so you could get your Emotions repainted for a couple of hundreds.
But it makes no sense financially. You're going to pay double, for the same wheel basically.
I would suggest you get the Rotas and apply the price difference towards better tires. Good tires will yield much more performance vs 2lbs or so of weight.
My 2 cents.

they come in hyperblack - just a very very long wait time to get it done
There is black chrome material - any wheel you see in that cooor is painted that color.
this is what they call WMB (Work Metal Buff) - it is a polished black chrome type of finish

I have a Silverstone Z and I think that would just look sweet with the black chrome on a silverstone (photoshop anyone?)
Is this finish additional $$? and how long of a wait time are we looking at?

Yes WMB is more expensive, and a very long wait time. I'd count on it taking 6 months realistically at this point. It's not a common stocking color for them, and they tend to take a while to get.
