Default Ordered 18" Nismos. Tire ?????

I ordered the nismo 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 wheels. Majority suggest using 275/40/18 and 245/40/18.

I am thinking about saving money and using my stock potenza rears (245/45/18) for the front nismo wheels. Will this work??

Thanks

are you going to drive it in the winter?
if you are driving it as a daily then get all seasons ...
they got bridgestone pole position all seasons thats really good...
if ur not driving it in the winter then get the regular pole positions ... i think those are quite popular among people from this forum...

I have 2 cars. I will drive the Z in the winter but only on days without snow.

If thats the case some Toyo proxies T1-Rs would be alright, right?

I been thinking really hard about getting summer or winter tires.

If you're on a budget but want a good tire I suggest the BFG KDW. Or no budget Michelin PS2 or Yoko Advan FTW!!! Just got a set of Advan Sports that I can't wait to try.

i am running 245/40/18 on the front and 275/40/18 on the back. I used to run the 285/35/18 with no complaints. Can't really tell much difference with my set up between the two sizes, but i'm sure someone with more HP would be able to.

Dont run the Potenza's on anything.... once you switch over to another brand you'll realize how ****ty of a tire they really are.

i hate when people buy expensive rims and want to use the bobo *** stock tires to "make do"

a 45 wall has more flex and less handling than a 40. The smaller the wall the better, the ride will be much stiffer and responsive. yes the 245/45 will stretch onto that 8.5 rim, but be prepared for the good old fashion Potenza ROAR, and rough ride.

You use the word stretch. but the stock rear wheel is 18 x 8.5 so its the same exact size wheel. Okay you all convinced me I am just gonna buy 275/40/18 and 245/40/18 either T1Rs OR PS2s OR EAGLE F1s. I'll just put them on a credit card. tHANKS

A tire calculator will give you useful information such as overall tire height. I advise that the rear tires are taller than the front.

I put Goodyear Eagle F1's on my nismo wheels. Excellent tires so far... smooth ride, fantastic in rain, and little sidewall flex.

Are yours 18s and if so how much did you pay for tires?

I don't think your first question was ever answered. Anyway, 245/45-18 is too tall for the front.

Stock Tires:
225/45-18 25.9" Overall Diameter (front)
245/45-18 26.7" Overall Diameter (rear)

As to your other question, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 are expensive (> $200 per tire and even more depending upon the size)
