Default going from a 45 stock to a 40?

hey guys got a hole in my sidewall in my passenger front tire. Im gonna replace the fronts for now with potenza re01-r ive heard great reviews. Theres a 30 dollar per tire difference on tirerack.com between the 45's and 40's. My question will it hurt anything to get the 40's since they are cheaper and keep the 45's on the back? thanks sorry im dumb with tires and wheels.

if you want to go down to a 40 series tire in the front, then bump with width up to 245 to compensate for the height stagger inherent in the stock setup.

i wanted to keep the stock stagger since i wont be switching rims either ill be sticking with the stocks. So you think i should get the 45's then id really rather stay the same size.

It will look silly-wheel gap will increase. If I were you Id run 245/40/265/40 on stockers, but your worried about $30 diff so you likely wont do that...

well i was asking opinions and im not completely worried about money, but when you ahve the same exact tire but 5mm taller and 30 bucks more i would think any normal person that watches their money would rather buy the cheaper tire, if it would work properly. I think im gonna go with the 245's after all. I dont have the money for the rears yet. So ill be running 245's all around.

Ok sorry one more ? Tirerack is where im getting them, they have 245/40/18's but, when i get the rears the only sidewall they have in a 265 is a 35. It will be a couple weeks before i can get the rears, but i need the fronts asap because the hole and i have a 60 mile commute. What would you advise i do about the 35 in the rear?

i guess im going for a 245/40/18 or 245/45/18 up front, and now i wanna go 265/45 in rear, but they only have 35's in the rear. Man this is confusing. Even the 255's all they have is 35 on the sidewall. I guess not many people run the re01-r's in staggered setup?

get ADVAN Neova AD07 and put 235/40/18 front and 255/40/18 rear. I had this setup before and it's better than now I have 240/40/18 and 275/40/18. Save gas and easier control at high speed.

Ive pretty much decided on the potenzas rated a little better then the advans in just about everything including ride which i like too. Plus the advans are like 80 bucks more on tirerack. im bout to say screw it and just order 4 245/40/18's and get on with it.

alright im thinking of this 245/40/18 in the front and 265/35/18 in the rear will there be any complications with that? Thats all i can find in the tires that i really want.

265/35 is too small, look for 265/40

welp i just went with 245/40/18's for the front i just did a ton of research. One of the things i found out was 245's all around will help the car drive more neutral. yes i am new to sports cars lol only fast cars i drive usually are drag racing. I also heard that if you use a 40 up front and a 45 in back then vdc will still work fine. Hope this is true. In a few weeks ill be getting the same tires for the rears except 45's. Then adding sways and springs hopefully it will stick like glue .
