For winter tire setup with Stock 18" rims
For winter setup
do we have to minimize the tire size gap between F/R?
For example;
235F/245R is better than 225F/255R? I believe wider? gap between F/R will cause oversteer, am i right?
I'm thinking 235F/245R or 225F/245R
what is your recomended winter setup?

The narrower the better. No more than 245R. 225F is fine.
You live in MD, so you should be fine with that...not like you are in North Dakota or some place where there is always snow.

When driving the Z in the winter where your have snow and ice, consider buying a dedicated wheel/tire setup. 17" wheels are the best for winter on your Z, and more narrow tires offer advantages when driving during winter months in snow and ice. Snow tires for 18" wheels cost more, and they don't work as well as snow tires for 17" wheels. You should mount 4 snow tires since you need to stop as well as go. And...there is no reason to use a staggered setup for your winter tires.
Overall diameters for front and rear on the Z:
25.9" front
26.7" rear
--Spike

I have a set of 17"x8.5 wheels dedicated for winter use. Tires are Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22's 225/50/17 front and 235/50/17 rear. The car looks goofy with them on, but I had very little difficulty getting around in the snow we had here in southeast PA this past winter/spring. Obviously avoid driving in the bad stuff if you can. I was pleased with the car's performance using this setup.

Well, i thought about just getting snow tires for current 18" and change it every season. but i thought i would just buy a crappy 17" set because swapping tires will cost me $100/eachtime,, where i can get 17" for $400ish
thanx for replies guys
