19"s are givin me a headache...
just bought some 19" Rays G-Games less than a month ago from Discount tires, mounted and all. no problems driving locally the first couple days. however, my first drive on a highway resulted in flat tire (left front). thinking it was a tire defect or mounting problem, i called the manufactuer and they sent me another tire at no cost. this time had the new tire mounted at a local shop. again driving local speed for about a week, no problem. took it on the highway again for the first time last nite, an hour into the trip same tire busted. i had to stop a few times to constantly put air into it. so i came to the conclusion that it was the RIM that was the problem. its not able to hold air... has this happened to anyone before? i'm plannin on callin the company to figure this out, somethin needs to be done. changing to my spare sucks!

Anything is possible, and an out of shape wheel may not be able to hold pressure. But the probability of a bad wheel is 1 in 10,000. I would look elsewhere for a solution.
BTW what size wheel?
What size tire?

It could be a defect tire. It happens. 19's are not that big of a problem in the tire sizes that fit the Z. As long as you have atleast 1.5 inches of sidewall you should be fine. Are you inflating the tire to the proper pressure?

Last time I changed my tires. The installer (Discount Tire) messed up the inner lip by using a crowbar to pry off the tire. This ended up putting several nicks and gashes in the inside of the wheel causing the tire not to seal. It would take it a week to leak down. Then wanted fix it with rubber cement. I don't play that. Well, they ended up replacing the two wheels. I know these tires are hard to get off, but a crowbar. I go somewhere else now that has real equipment. Just something you need to tell them to inspect?

Before you take your wheels to any shop you should find out whether or not they have the proper equipment. Sounds like the tire shop you took your wheels to didnt.
They have different machines that are able to handle larger wheel sizes. Lucky for me the shop near my house admitted they didnt have the proper equipment and he told me which shops in the area have them. Very nice of him IMO.
Sucks your rim got messed up though, it is such a hastle when something like this happens. Specially when it involves wheels and your safety.

Sounds like the rim is messed up. When you have this tire taken off, you could inspect the rim, or drop it in water thing. That sounds like a cool way to see if the rim is defective.
