Default Chrome Or "Opal" On Lemans????

I decided not to dump a huge chuck of $$ on wheels since I already did for my system and to go with something more of a "budget wheel" Narrowed down to 2 or 3 but cant decide on the finish and not being able to see them in person doesn't help much! I have Lemans and wondering if chrome or the new "opal" finish that so many are coming out with now would even look good on them? What do you guys think? Better yet, have or know of any pics of Lemans with chrome or even the new opal finish?

Opal would look better (I hate chrome wheels, keep that for the SUV gangstas and soccer moms).

There are a lot of wheels coming out in this "opal" color, personally I really like them, all the BMW M cars have wheels in that color, also Tire Rack carries some wheels that are a similar color (AKA-Brilliant silver, bright silver, etc....) although I think the "opal" has a HINT of "gunmetal" or "hyperblack" meaning-they are slightly darker. IIRC, you were looking at the Konig Prophets, I really like the color of that wheel, my lil bro has a black RSX-S and he is getting these wheels in a 18" VERY soon, I kind of like the looks of some japanese cars with gunmetal color wheels, BUT I would NEVER put them on myself, I think the opal is a GREAT alternative though.

if you are in fact looking at that same wheel, I will post pics when he gets them (although they are on backorder for his car, so you may get them before he does).

Chrome is just not for me

I would definitely go with Opal. JimH has a bunch of pics on here of his Opal Privat Fahren wheels.

Yeh Opal's good.

I was in the same situation as you, having a Lemans Z, and has to choose between chrome and polished as well. Decided not to go with chrome, as it looks like you're showing off and hard to clean.

Default Privat/Fahren Opals on my Le Mans

I also don't like chrome on the LS. I opted for these in Opal, sometimes called "super silver". Regards, Jim
