Default Slow Leak

Should I take my car in to the dealer for a slow leak on one of the tires? It is still under warranty and I read the owners manual on the tire warranty but not sure if they will cover it or not.

I am considering just fixing it myself since it may not be covered anyway. What do you guys think?

I doubt if the dealer will fix the tire for free unless the car is less than 30 days old.

Nissan does not warranty tires. You would have to take it to the tire manufacturer for any tire warranty issues.

I'd just go to a tire store...Probably wouldn't cost more than $10 or so to get taken care of...if you have a puncture of some kind (I got a screw in a tire a couple of years ago that was almost self sealing) Les Schwab will fix that for no charge. At least up in my neck of the woods they don't charge for that.

Leaks are almost NEVER the result of a manufacturer's defect. They're almost always the result of a puncture...hardly the responsibility of either teh auto builder or the tire manufacturer.

Mine "developed" a slow leak about a week after i got it. My local repair shop found the leak, pulled out the nail, and repaired teh leak. I think they charged me $7.

And I didn't even have to put a post on a message board to figure out what to do.

ya this post really is ridiculous. have you never driven a car before?

like okay tire develops slow leak. You should have been informed that your warranty does not cover what's known as wear and tear items. Tires, Brake pads, clutch are all included under this category and they are excluded from any warranty.

go to a discount tire and get it checked out. hell even wal mart can patch it. just pray its not in the sidewall. if it is then they will have to replace the tire. but a patch costs next to nothing. you paid the money for the z, you can handle 20 bucks for a patch.
