Default 07/08, no tire pressure sensors?

So my 07 does not let you look at the tire psi, and looking at owners manuals it looks like the 06 does while using the same wheels. Do the 07s and 08s have the sensors even?

The car does have a low tire warning light, does it just use the cheaper method of watching for L/R differences in abs sensors? Anyone know? I wish I could look at my tire pressures..

Yeah man, I don't know what the f. happened to that. I asked when I switched my Z for an 07 why it doesn't show the psi read anymore, they said it's different now and really didn't go into detail. meh.

If it shows a low pressure reading, then it's got TPS. There's no such thing as two different kinds of tire pressure sensors, they're all the same for Nissan / Infiniti vehicles. Tire pressures are shown on your gauge computer. Click it until you find the right mode.

The 07 have the TPS sensors through all models but they no longer tell you the readings.

By 10/2007 all cars sold in the usa have to have tire pressure monitoring systems by fed law.

Thanks TK, that is what I was wondering.

The 07/08 do not show the tire psi on the trip computer, it is not an option you can cycle to. I wonder if it's just a software difference that can possibly be changed or if the 07+ is missing something electronically for this?

And Fairly Z, there are ways of detecting a low tire without tire pressure sensors, that is how some cars are complying with the law in a cheaper way. If there are no pressure sensors at all, the ecu can watch the abs sensors and if one tire's rotations are consistently different from expected, it will flag it as a low tire.

The 07 has different transmitters.
Maybe you can retrofit if you change the receiver ....but I believe the 07 receiver also picks up the remote opener signal too.
Correct me if I am wrong..

The sensors between 07+ and 03-06 are interchangeable. While the new ones have a slightly different part number, it has been confirmed that they work both ways. You have to keep in mind that the sensors still have to send the pressure for the computer to decide if it's too low or not before showing the warning, so in that sense, the function the same as the old ones.

The difference may be in the receivers, then.
Do the 07 require a consult II to reset the transmitters?

My big beef was that I could not interchange wheels between my Zs and the G without a dealer visit each time.

The difference is in the computer. It no longer displays the values, that's it.

Yes, Consult is still required.

So does that mean it will be a Federal offense/crime when people swap rims and don't use the sensors?

Go to prison and or fined for test pipes and now tire sensors? ROFL.

Not quite. It's illegal for a shop or dealer to disable TPMS. You, the owner, can swap wheels and not transfer the sensors with no legal consequence.

Some dealers are quite stupid.
One refused to transfer tires from my track wheels to my regular wheels for my 04 roadster...which has no tpms. He insisted he had to transfer the valve stems.
Tried to tell him the stems stays with he car...to no avail.
Had to go a shop with a tech who could think.

How can you be confused? As it was pointed out several times in this thread, and easily confirmable in your owners manual - NO, actual pressures are not displayed in the 07 models. You only get the low pressure warning as well as the missing sensor warning.
