good question im wondering the same thing too. One thing i know for certain though is that you pay about $800 dollars a piece for the wheels. If you want lightwight wheels you can go out and get a 19" set of Volks with rubber for around $3500. If you really want the stock ones then go get em. But imo your better off getting aftermarket because it is clearly a better deal.

Volk TE37's (also made by Ray's), they weigh 17lbs compared to the track rims which weigh 18.26lbs.

yeah, the rims are more or less equal, they are forged, they are a good name, they are made by rays, who is one of the premier wheel makers in the world.

only downside to them vs other is that they are only available from nissan, and they run EXTREMELY expensive if you damage a rim, like I thought it was over 1000 each, but even 800 is insane. thats one problem.

another is the 8 and 8.5" sizes, most aftermarket rims that are bought are 8.5 and 9.5, some do 9.5 and 10.5, ect. so your stuck with those 8 and 8.5" sizes, not as wide as the aftermarkets that you could get, if that matters to you.

thats what you need to know IMO to make a good decision, you can get 18" rays TE37s(the closest match to track rims) for 2000$, or about 500 each. rubber will run you around 900-1000$. and you can sell your stock tires for about a grand as well. assuming you got the stock 18" rims(not track). brembos... well, their good, but there are better, and you will pay for that. aftermarket brakes seem to run about 3grand for fronts only, might come down a little. but for that 3grand, you will get better performance from them, but in there, Ive just named off 5000$ worth of stuff to make a performance or touring perform better than track. performance is only 3000 less than track... touring is 900less but you go the stereo and seats.

your choice on all that, just some info for you to make your own edjucated decision.

the Track rims are indeed forged and considered "light weight." However, the issue brought up about replacement cost is important. In addition. If you want rims that draws attention to your ride. The track rim might seems a bit mild. I got my CS Track more for the Brembo then the forged rims. (i would have gotten a G35 6MT with Brembo if i could have gotten a better deal in the car.) Nonetheless, i love my Track and the shoes it came with.

as much as i like VOLKs, i have to say IMHO iForge rims look even better. But i am getting old and lazy so i probably will stick with the stock configuration

When you buy the Track Model, you are not paying $800 a wheel!

I got mine because it was a deal!!!!! for 34,000 you get the Brakes and the wheels. Do the math!

You take the 28,000 base model with practically nothing, and you have got $6000 to get to the 34,000 of the sticker .

(Please, no know-it-all corrections! these are approximations that are close enough!)

Add in the price of putting in all the aftermarket stuff; TP monitor, ching!, Xenon lights, ch ching! LSD, ching! VDC, cha ching! Rays forged wheels, ba da bing! Brembo Brakes CHING!!!!!!
Suddenly we are pushing 40 grand!!!! If you dont plan to upgrade the Rays then you are getting a smokin deal!!!!!!!!
Hell I always knew I would upgrade the wheels and still got my track just for the Brakes!!

BTW yes the track wheels are light! 18.2 pounds per wheel. There are plenty of 18" wheels that are heavier for much more money. In the ks! If you like the look buy the track model!!!

The numbers on the brembos are not that much greater than stock. I have seen an average of only 3-5 less ft of stopping distance. Basically the bremmbos are good only if you plan on tracking your z because they do significantly reduce brake fade. If you really are concerned about stopping distance though the best upgrade is tires.

Default news flash

There are 3 of us here that AutoX Z's, we found by accident that 17 inch Cobra rims will bolt right on to the Non Track Z models, so that really opens up some doors for a source of rims for race, street, etc.

One problem, the base is 26000, for that 28000 you get the enthusiast, which has the LSD and Xenons

There is only one wheel option for the Track model - the Rays Forged that you have on your car (as I see you have a Track) so I'm not sure what pics you are looking for ?????

Yeah - he's BS'ing you man. There is no such option. The stock Track wheels ARE the superlights. I like 'em though !

Default some more options to consider

1. Another option instead of T-37's is buying NISMO wheels.

2. Problem (if you want bigger tires) is the wheel width of Track model rays.

3. Another option is get the track, seel the track/rays wheels for lets say 2K, then buy T-37's in wider width. Now you still get the Brembos etc of track model....

problems with that is your gonna have trouble sellin em for 2grand, 1800 might be closer, and your gonna pay 3grand for rims and tires. so yeah you do get new rims for only 1200$ more, and the brembos. but you paid 1200 on top of track model, or you could get performance, which is ~3000$ less than track. sell tires for 1000, spend 3000 for rims, 3000 for aftermarket rims, you spent 5000 to upgrade. and the track would be 4000 more, so 1000 more and you get aftermarket brakes instead of track brembos, so many options.

or you could buy the brembo's off a G35c MT owner who is upgrading like several have done for 1400-2500, get the Track wheels for 1500-2000, with tires, or any aftermarket wheels and add them to a 28000 enthusiast for the best value.
