oem: 225/45-18 front and 245/45-18 rear gives a .9734 ratio... (do i have the correct OEM sizes for an 06 touring?)
so, if i want to get NEAR to the OEM ratio, one of the closest calculations i could figure out was with 275/30-19 front and 295/30-19, which gives it a .9818 ratio. does this sound decent to all you tire junkies out there? i definitely want 295s in the back... what other sizes in the front could i get to minimize steering/suspension issues? thanks guys <3

bump.. help.. opinions..? i pretty much have no idea what the difference in the setups would be except the sidewall would be higher. how much of a difference does this make in terms of driving (for instance, canyons, hard)?

Got them from tires-easy.com for $700 shipped. 245/35/20 amd 275/30/20

^ Thanks Zeebra, but anything would feel amazing after a set of Nitto 555's. I could make a set of tires out of my old Nikes that would be better. Glad to hear you like them though.

WOW. AFS Wheels gave me a really high qoute for a set of 19's. $920 Shipped seems very high from what others are buying them for.

The lowest I have seen is Group A Wheels for 798.25 shipped. Does anyone have anyone they can refer me to? Some of the websites mentioned in this thread are now no more, please help.

Vredestein is a Norwegian tire company
Just so you guys know, Vredestein is a Dutch tire manufacturer, if the tires were made in Norway they would be so insanely priced that no-one would buy them....

These are good street tires. I got a set (4) in 275/18/35 for a good price from ASF, and the shipping was quick too.

Does anyone here have experience comparing the Vredstein's to RE01-R's or R1-R's?

Definitely not as sticky as RE01R's, but longer life. Better than Toyo T1-R's though in grip.

If you own these tires you will notice they have a shoulder at half the tread depth(not a wear bar) that supports the tread from deflecting. I had about 1/16" of tread left before reaching this shoulder area of the tire and was sure the tread would wear down to that point with a track day at CA Speedway but at the end of the day with almost 50 laps on them the tires showed no wear at all.
Thanks for the info.

So would you purchase these tires again? And what street tires do you feel out-performed the vredesteins?

I would purchase these again if I was on tight budget and needed them to last 20-30,000 miles. I loved the Bridgestone S03 PP tires but as they are no longer available, the 050 Pole Positions are suppose to be even better but have not tried them yet. I have read a lot of good things about them.
