Just grabbed a used pair of Ruff 278's from a friend used. I love the look of these rims!! Whats the hit size tire combo for them both???


Car is lowered on Hotchkis Springs. 2004.5.

Rims sizes are


Front 18x8.5
Rear 18x9.5.


Want the car to look clean and nice. I would like to try and use my 245/40/18's from my stock rims for the front? WIll that work?? Also want the fattest tire for the back without it looking to big and buldging on the sides.

Is 265/35/18 the correct size for a 9.5 inch rim? Im thinking thats what im gonna go with in the rear. Fronts are going to have to be 245/40/18.

 

275/40 is the proper rear , LOL 265/35 is way to short , and actually shorter than the normal front tire.

295 is way too wide for a 9.5" rim. Most 295s are recommended for 10" and above.

 

Yes, and that is the nature of staggered tire sizing. Like stock for example.

Tires look a little messed up to me though... The backs seem Crazy big compared to the front.. I did like u guys said and got 275.40 rear and 245/40 front. I think the backs should be smaller though..

It looks like a oldschool hotrod in the back, the fronts are like all low profile and the backs are meaty as hell!! Looks kind of weird to me.

What size should I get? Should I go up in the front to a 255 40? or go down in the back to a 275 35?

Wow that rear is meaty as hell!!! Like you said: "oldschool hotrod" and it makes the rear wheel look smaller than it really is.

I would have went 265/35/18 with an 18 by 10 wheel like these two cars:






Your front is fine. Though you might want to compensate and go with a 275/35/18 in the rear.

I say the lighter the better and you don't need that much meat for a non-drag NA 350z.

 

Pictures look right on to me.

The correct size/height-stagger (that I believe you have):
245/40-18" front
275/40-18" rear

If you're thinking the rears look too tall, you could go with an 18" wheel in the front and a 19" wheel in the rear. If you stay with the correct overall diameter; the aspect ratio on the rear will be less, but the sidewall height will be closer to the same value front to rear.

I dont like the pics either , thats why i run a 255/40 front , and it also keep the factory stagger for understeer instead of adding more. The 275/35 is actually shorter than the 245/40 , you dont want that.

 

Wheels are the same size as NISMO wheels. Tires? Same as recommended for the NISMO wheels.

 

IMHO... you're trippin. That setup looks good, will ride nicely, and will wear well.

 

What size do they recommend for the nismo wheels????\


I just want to know the best tire combo for these rims and never worry about it ever again!!!
