Default Don’t want to buy Potenza tires for the 2003 Performance model

If this is moved can somebody let me know WHERE it was moved to because I don’t know how to use this site very well. Thanks!

Hi,

I got a nail in my front tire. It was patched but the tire still needs to be replaced. Instead of changing one tire, I figure that I would just go ahead and change both front tires. I don’t want to spend more than about $300 on new front tires. I have a 2003 Performance model (they don’t make em anymore) w/ 18 inch wheels. As many of you know, the 2003 model had more than its far share of defections so I have to be particular with tire buying.

I am going to get a 2008 CTS* later this year and I figure that any money that I can save on the Z can go into more accessories for the new car. Plus I don’t want to spend $500 on two new tires when I know good and well that I won’t have the Z in 8 months.

Are there any alternatives to the Potenza tires? All weather, daily driving tires, it doesn’t matter. I drive the Z about 100 miles each month so I am not too worried about wearing the tires down before I sell it.

Thanks!

* I am a family man now but I was single when I first got the Z. Time to move up to a sedan – a sedan with 300 horses!

Look for any tire in a 225/45/18 size.
General Exclaim UHP should be cheap and suit your needs.

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=200 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=productName width=200 colSpan=2>Kumho Ecsta SPT</TD></TR><TR><TD width=200 colSpan=2>225/45R-18 91Y BSW</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
$111 each at discount tire.

Go to tire rack and they should set you up fine. You shouldn't have a problem finding tires under $300

Thanks! I want to keep the car until the end of the summer because its the best summer car I've ever had and I want one last summer in it. My then gf and I loved riding in it but we are married and older now. Plus you can't put a kid in a Z.

I will look into the suggestions. Thanks again *thumbsup*
