If you want grip you would have run a 265 or better yet a 275 up front, then to have mid corner grip you need close to, if not more than -3 camber up front.

Should look great, i run the same sizes but went with a 10.5 out back. Depending on the section width of the 285 i would look into the 10.5.

The Hankook RS3 i run, is really wide and is dam near flush over the 10.5, and i've seen it mounted on the 9.5 and its pinched.

It certainly is beefy! I wasn't really looking to go as wide as a 275/285, but I was trying to stay as close as I could to an overall stock height. That and some of the other sizes I was looking at for this tire were back ordered through Tire Rack. In the end I am happy with the outcome.

It is mostly a street car, being my dd. I will only occasionally track it and usually make less than five mountain runs per month. I did a lot of research before getting these sizes and decided on a relatively neutral setup. Mostly using the posts from Scott as well as you. So, thanks for the advice!

Anywho, here are some pics from Inde. Warning, still on stock suspension! That is the next mod, researching coilovers now.

Edit: Added wheel and tire specs

glad you posted, im looking at getting similar set up, getting Enkei Raijin 18x9.5+15 read and RS-3 285/35/18 and front i am unsure... do i go 9.5 or 8.5 in front, and what size tire, 265/40/35 or 255... im thinking 9.5 and 265/35 (cheaper than /40) but i will listen to advice !!

oh and can you take a pic of rear so i can see how 'pinched' it looks on the 9.5" ? cheers

There is plenty of room up front, but I am still on stock suspension. I don't plan on going any lower than a one inch drop, so I hopefully shouldn't have any problems. As for sizing, don't do the 265/40 front with the 285/35 rear. That would be a taller tire up front. The 265/35 on the 9.5 should work just fine, or go with the square 265/40 set up recommended in your thread. When I was doing my research, it seemed that most track setups were square.

I am waiting on more pictures to come in. I don't personally have a camera, other than my cell phone. My brother took some pics for me at the event and I have posted what I have received from him thus far. I can try to find out if he took any up close shots, for sizing purposes, but I may just have to take them with my crappy cell phone. Sorry for the no pic response, but I should have something by tomorrow.

Here are the 285/35/18 RS3s on 18x9.5 +15s all around. These "work", but I'd go 265, as these are huge mothers. I stuck with the 285s because I found four new ones for super cheap. I'd go 9.5 front and rear to keep rotation, or 10.5 +15 all around with 285 and a touch of camber. No need for little 8.5 fronts (plus they are convex instead of concave in the RPF1).

Branchers - glad I could help!

Thanks guys, awesome pics!!
I dont think its too bad.. not ballooning at all but i see what you mean by pinched. my 295/30 is like that on my 19x10 so im used to it..

I will do as you suggest 9.5x18 all round, and match profiles, 285/35 and 265/35.
I got the 285s really cheap ($115e cheaper than 265s) also thus cant go 265/ all round but next tire change i will do 265/40 all round

Enkei said the really concave +15 will not fit front as id have to pull and roll fenders? i can deal with rolling them but not pulling.. so ill just have to go +35 in front and +15 in rear and just $600 to get tires swapped instead of rotate ...

Enkei is playing it safe there. You can run them no problem. If you want them, get them.

Any reason you prefer the Raijin over the RPF-1?

Do you mind if I ask what lug nuts you were using with your 17 inch RPF1's?

Most will fit on them. Paladin has some nice NRG aluminum lugs that will work great on them.
