Default Volk GT-S Stolen!!! advice?

So i wake up to the local police calling me this morning telling me that my rims and tires were stolen over the weekend(last night) from my shop. We think we know who did it, but of course we can't just go pointing fingers without proof or anything. Thankfully they were covered under the companies insurance so i can get a new set and new tires and such which is good. The bad news is the insurance company is asking for a receipt of purchase for the amount of the rims/tires which i don't have. It was over a year ago and i;'m not sure what happened to the receipt, also the company was an online discount warehouse, good prices but i can't remember the name or the phone #. Sadly i can remember exactly what the website looked like, just not the name so i've been going crazy trying to find the website where i got there. All i know is they were in Florida so..

If anyone has any advice that would be great. Detectives said there were no prints or anything so nothing could be traced and just to call them if i hear anything else..not sure what to do at this point. Anyway an online banking account could be used for the insurance claim?

If the funds was paid through your debit card, credit card, or with a check you can have your bank do a history inquiry to track where that payment went. Sux to have a situation like this happen. GL with this case. BTW did you have locks on your lugs?

Great idea. You'll get more coverage since you got your wheels discounted. Just make sure its someone who paid CASH, because reciepts show the last four digits of your card plus your name on the bottom.

+1 on this. Did you pay with a check or a card? You can have you bank give you the info on the purchase.

Yeah definitely. If it was an online thing then you surely paid with credit card, or debit card, or paypal? There must be some sort of records, somewhere.

Yeah i paid with a visa, unfortunately the banks are barely open today(well that department i guess) but they said they can check into it..insurance said they just need a receipt or proof of purchase for the item(s) so hopefully i don't need the actually receipt..maybe this is a good time to change color? lol if i get the insurance money

Do you have photos of your car with the wheels installed? That might be helpful to verify your claim.

the reason you dont hear more about this problem, is that most of the time the insurance company will balk when you tell them you have $3000 worth of wheels/tires.. so they will insist that they will only pay for the cost of a OEM set. Which is roughly $700 per wheel + 200 tire from your friendly local Nissan dealer. Meaning they will actually pay out more if they push for OEM only compensation. Some people are able to buy Volks when their OEMs are stolen. haha.. Point being, the worst case scenario actually pays the same or higher.

Was the place Wheelautohaus.com?

They sell high end wheels at good prices, they are actually in my home town.

as long as you have proof that you had the wheels on yoru car, with pix etc.. you can have your insurance company call any of the vendor and they can buy it from them for you.

If you ordered them online you should have received a receipt in your email inbox. I never delete those kinds of things for this type or reason. Good luck.
