Default total noob... want 20" shoes

Hi All, before I get flamed... I did skim the 6+ pages of this forum for my answer...

I have a 2005 350zr, w/o brembo brakes.

I want 20" shoes.... whats are my various configurations I can get with out rolling my fenders...

btw, I have the version select (vertex) front bumper w/o side skirts.

I need to know tire size/offset/etc...

Anyone suggest some sick wheels that I should look into? (more into looks then speed/weight)

fyi, the car is yellow...

Any pics would be great!!!

You are far far from being a noob that needs to be spoon fed. I have confidence that you will figure it out.

I’ve only driven one Z with 20” wheels, and I wasn’t impressed. The ride was so stiff and uncomfortable I was sure every irregularity in the roadway was surely bending the rim. On top of this, the car’s performance (specifically acceleration) felt sluggish.

I think 19’s are the best compromise on ride, handling, performance, and appearance for the Z. I suppose that is the reason so many pick this size (19’s).

But, those 20’s do look unique and great.

1. SEARCH

2. Don't call them shoes

3. Don't get 20's unless you want to be laughed at by everyone here.

Because they are all a bunch of haters and every damn Z has to look the same, some "cool" guy has decided one day that 20" are bad and everybody follows (thats the way I see things here) - 20" look great on a Z and if you would have asked the question in Europe most of the people would agree.

I have 20" Volk GT-7, they weight only 12kg so hey, where is the problem for a road car (not everyone drives the Z on the track once a week)?? Driveability is still great.

So if you want 20s - go for it!

BUT i would choose lightweight wheels, I recommend Volk. The last set of 20s that was on my car was far too heavy (about 19kg - These where on my car as I bought it) and with the Volks you can really feel the difference

You will find pictures of mine in the "GT-7 picture thread" and there are some more threads with 20s.

Front wheel 9.5 x 20 +22 Tire: Michelin PS2 255/30/20
Rear wheel 10.5 x 20 +24 285/30/20

A cool choice for 20s is also the Work Meister 3pce would look great in black/polishe lip on a yellow car. But I am not aware of the weight.

+1 i really think it is funny how most everyone on this site has never had their car on a track and never will, yet say 20's are WAY to heavy and that 19's are like a feather. hahhaa. some of the 19" tires have the same sidewall also. the extra power to spin 4-5 more lbs will hardly be noticed unless they are a very experienced driver. i have beaten people who were on 18's with hoosiers and i was on 20's with regular street bfg's. not one or 2, have gotten up to second in a field where 1-10 were on slicks and race wheels in auto-x, where the extra weight matters the most. (this was in my n/a vette against z06's and other vettes, not the Z)
i like the looks of 20's, so thats what i do. if you don't like the look, thats fine too. built motor, twin turbo, and a shot of nitrous really has no probs spinning my 20" work rezax2's!

btw- my 20" axis mods are for sale op-

what are you talking about? why just because you cant afford them? some 18/19s look way to small to be on a G/Z. some people dont care about having 80000 HP. If you get the right 20 inch wheel it fits the car perfectly.
