Default Need help w/ S-tune install ASAP.....

I am installing the s-tune suspension kit, and I have a question for anyone who has worked on it.

The pillow mounts on the front shock/spring assy. are backwards so the only way to mount the assy. is backwards. I could disassemble the spring from the shock and spin the top mount around, but it looks like there is loctite on it and I do not have a compressor to remount.

I am considering mounting it backwards, which should not matter other than the speed sensor tab being on the back (and switching sides to get the brake line mount on the correct side).

Anyone know what the deal is? I looked at pictures of KSJ's install and it looked to be mounted normal, and raceboy ade no mention of it. Any ideas? HELP.....

I would double check with NISMO for part numbers etc.

Explain this to NISMO and see what NISMO suggest as the fix. They may have used the wrong part.

You can take it apart and fix it, or you can just put it on backwards. I would probably fix it first, but you will need a spring compressor to do it.

I'd take them apart and turn it around. You may not need a spring compressor since they are shorter springs and the pressure is probably fairly light. I didn't need one when I put my Eibachs in, just to get the stock ones off.

Cool... Thanks a lot raceboy and zwindsor. That was what I needed to know. I may fix them but I will see, I am pretty lazy and already have one mounted opposite, so we shall see. Thanks again....

Mine just arrived yesterday from Gruppe-S as well...and they were also both backwards. I'm a bit agitated, since I don't have access to a spring compressor. At any rate, I'm definitely fixing mine before install...shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Also, my 350Evo sways arrived the other day as well. I can't wait to get everything on the car.

I guess everyone had the same idea when they saw the US NISMO prices. Why pay $1500, when you can get them for $1200 delivered to your door from Japan? And who needs a long-term warranty on performance dampers? When they wear out, they wear out. Also, specualtion that they actual US spec for the dampers would be different from the Japanese version was enough to seal the deal. We know the Japanese version works, so I went with it.

Mine are going on backwards most likely.... Droid what's up, when you plan to fix yours. If you can help me out I may fix mine, but I would like to finish the install Sunday ( I will also finish my Stoptech install).

I just did some looking around for a spring compressor...a friend told me the local autozone rents them for free with a returnable deposit.
Sears carries a Craftsman model for about $40 as well. Should be easy enough to fix before install.
