I wish people would stop talking about how heavy 20's are. I have 20" Volk GTC's. 20X9.5 in front and 20X10.5. 255/30 in front and 295/30 in rear. After having them mounted and balanced, i got a digital scale and compared them with the stock rim/tire weight. (Stock= 03' 18" Touring Rims)

The Volks rear weighed 5lbs more than stock. Front weighed 1lb more than stock. I wish people would stop assuming that 20's are heavy as ****. Maybe some brands, but i know in my particular instance they were not. I cannot tell one bit of difference.

Sorry for the venting i just get pissed off when I see people saying that.

I'm not sure of circumstances, but I do know from personal experience, I've had Volk 19" TE37's bend on me cause I had to ditch into the grass at a track doing about 80mph and hit the speed strip at a funny angle. Never heard of them cracking though.

BWAHAHAHA! No offense to the OP but I'm saving this post for future use when the high-debt carrying Volk snobs carry on with their "Rotas are teh suck, Volks NEVER crack" tripe.

GT-7s are not fully forged.

Its a 2pc wheels w/ forged barrel but the face is actually spun cast.

If you want true forged wheels from Rays, go with RE30, TE37, and CE28.

Um...5lbs extra per wheel on the rear is considered quite a bit in my book. You have heard of unsprung weight right..?

Five pounds is a pretty big percentage of the stock wheel weight; for an 06 rear that is hovering around 20-25 percent. Now take a basic polar moment of inertia eqn., I = mr^2 and you'll see that the moment is primarily a function of the radius. You have contributed to both variables on the right side... but if you are happy with the results who cares, right?

Well lets answer the questions that have been asked so far.

1. Why not just have it fixed?

Alot of the wheel shops out here in vegas in a bit shady, and the good ones want an arm and a leg to fix. so lets say low side is $400 (Do I really want to have someone cheap fix what what my car rolls on at 90+ MPH?)

Price to fix $400
Price for the 4 Tires I already need $950
$1300

Then I have to find a set of wheels to ride around on for the time being and risk damage or tire wear on a friends wheels. Not really what I want to do with the luck ive been having in the car lately.

2. Why not just buy another set of Volk's?

Well because im not straight baller status just yet to buy ANOTHER set of 3K rims. Not including tires. I'm a 20 year old valet and can't go ***** to the wall on the car like I wish I could.

Rims $2600
Tires $1000
$3600

I just really can't afford to do it right now. So now if you say put stocks back on and save, well then I'm back into borrowing wheels, and would then risk damage and would have to buy new tires for the stockers by the time I have enough to buy the rims. So there goes another $700 for tires that I wont even use. Blowing my total to $4300

3. Have any pics?

No pics as of right now because i had to have the rim remounted on the car so I could get around. Rims have been on the car for over 3 1/2 years so I'm definately out of any warranty.

Now onto my venting

TO the person that was crying about the 20" heavyness. Was I talking about Volks being heavy or the TSW's? So in essense why the $#!T would I care if your volks are heavy? I know volks aren't very heavy I have some 19's on the car right now. Thanks for the information that I didn't ask for and being totally useless in this thread *High Five*

To most everyone else that has posted

How is it that I asked 2 questions and out of 30+ posts I only got ONE answer to my question to the offset of the wheels I should get? One person asked a legit question of why not have it fixed becuase it can't be that bad. And one person says call the dealer. Now that = 3 posts right? What does this mean? It means the grand members of My350Z have managed to clusterf*ck another thread with useless banter about which rims are better, and OMFGTEH!!!!11! the volks are the hotsauce and would never crack, and my dick is bigger than yours! I dont need an argument in my thread if volks crack or not.. I KNOW THEY DO. I can walk 50 feet and see for myself.

I really don't mean to sound like an a$$hole or anything. I have really just been having shitty luck with the car as of late and this is the breaking point. I could be putting 1500-2000 more into performance mods, and I'm stuck buying new wheels not becuase I want to, but because I HAVE to. So I come here asking which size tire and which offset to run, and in turn get 2 pages of uselessness. I really like these forums and get a good amount of information, but as of late all the threads have been turning into pissing contests and just a bunch of garbage.

did you crack one wheel or cracked all four of them?

If just one, why not just get a replacement?

If you cracked all four.. that means you should just get a brand new set.

DONE DONE

no ones talking about which rims are better. people clusterfcuk ROTA threads all day & people are just taking notice to the fact that the superior volks have problems too.

sorry, but your thread was just used as an example & will forever be copied & pasted to any 'cracked rota' thread.

One, Cracked my front drivers side

Don't have a spare set of wheels to ride on while I wait for repair/replacement, and don't want to risk someone elses wheels, because with my luck that would be the time I have a blowout, meeting with a curb, or god forbid an accident.

I'm not mad at the fact that you are going to copy and paste for futre reference. That's all fine and dandy But i do have 25 or more posts of people talking about indestructable volks LOL. I couldn't care less about who has what Rims, I just wanna know what fuggin offset to run on the ones I'm trying to buy LOL

And I also think I am going to go with the 20's. The tires are still cheaper than 19's and should fil up the wheel well alot better than an 18" considering I'm on stock ride height.
