There is obvious signs of running over something that caused the rim to bend out of shape. Running over a pothole or a rock will cause damage to any wheel. The difference is that the wheel held together while the other may have cracked into pieces. In the case of Rota thread there was no obvious signs of running over a pothole or damage to the wheel, it just cracked from fatigue of the material.

LOL! In the case of the Rota thread there was no obvious signs of a pothole or damage to the wheel??? And how did you come to this conclusion? I realllllly want to get a good laugh, so please post up that info.
Did you ignore the stress crack on the wheel? Did you ignore the curb rash on the face of the wheel? Did you ignore the scratches on the back of the wheel? Did you ignore the big dark line in the center of the tire that indicates prolonged driving with extremely low tire pressure? Please Eddie, open you eyes.
