Default 275/35/19 vs 275/30/19

Well fellow Z's i just purchased some volk gt-7's ....but will not get them until July 18 .....my question is which tire size to go with in the rear....35 series or 30 series....from my understanding the 35 is about 0.3" larger than my stock 17's, and the 30 series is about 0.5" smaller than stock....i have noticed that most ppl are going with the 35 series in the rear.....what to do?....i am also assuming that the 30 series will give a rougher ride.....please help me make up my mind.....ta ...thanx

borla exhaust
aem intake
red calipers
rear spoiler
sony deck/amp/sub
brickyard
volk gt-7 19x8.5f 19x9.5r
Nitto nt555 245/35/19 front...rear?

I went through the same thing and i went with the 275 35 19 on the rear and 245 35 19 on the front. The difference on the back between the 30 and 35 is almost an inch overall diameter. .9 to be exact. I really liked the profile of the 30's but being undersized by that much, and lets say 6-8months down the road you have burned off another 1/4 inch of rubber your quite a bit down on stock overall diameter. Im sure the 30's will work but ive got the vdc and abs that i dont want to worry about. My 2cents.

Ah yes, nothing like the infamous "TIRE CALC" to determine things like this:

You can see the exact differences between stock, optional, and whatever size you WANT to go with..

I was told with that rim (gt-7) it should be 35 in front and 30 in back because of the ride height of the car that combo gives the most even ride height... I went with 40 in front and 35 in the back because of the shitty streets in Philly..... Correct me if im wrong thanks

You cant just say 35 front and 30 back. What these numbers are are percentages of the sidewall height in relation to the width. So a 275 35 19 will have a sidewall height 35% of 275mm.
