Question how come no one is going 275/30/19?

just curious..

all the J-spec 350Zs in the hyper rev magazine are running
245/35/19 front on a 19x9.5

but

275/30/19 on a 19x10.5 on the rear..

curious on why..

cuz the 275/35/19 are on national back order, but 275/30 is not...

did the wheel calculations..

a -5% change..
so when you're supposed to be going 75, your speedo reads 72.. :\

eh...

Thinner (30 is a thinner sidewall than 35). I read of some people running the 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 and there was too much (or not enough?) of a variation of tire size between front and rear and it caused problems with the VDC.

After installing the S-tunes, it seems the speed sensors are on the front wheels, so it should not effect the speedo, I think.

275/35/19 is the closest size to stock overall diameter.

So when you upsize from 17 or 18, a 275/30/19 is too thin of a sidewall... so your rims are more vulnerable, and the speedo/etc are off...

Hence I been waiting 3 god damn months for a set of 35's in the rear =(

I couldn't find 275/35/19 either so I ended up going with 285/35/19.

If you are going to a 275 30 19 on the back you need to go with a 235 35 19 on the front to keep it in spec.

I gave up on the T1-S's I really wanted, and went with S-03's from Tire Rack.

I've been running the 275/30/19 for a while now with no problem. Then again I don't have to worry about VDC or TCS either. Sure it's a bit off-spec but I would still be running around on the stock 17"s right now if I waited for a set of 275/35s to show up.

Not all Z's come with VDC and TC. Also, for you guys running off-spec wheel diameters, might this also throw off the ABS sensors? TC and VDC are one thing, but who wants their ABS not functioning properly? You may be getting sub-standard ABS modulation with this?

Base model has neither. Enthusiast only has TCS.

This is what im curious about as well. Im in the process of ordering ny tires for my g35 and would like to go with a 275 30 19 and 235 35 19 but i dont want to upset any vdc/abs on my car. I know the 275 35 19 are avaliable but the 30 series looks so nice an low profile over the 35's

hey whatsup chebosto

i have a performance 350Z and have
volks 9.5f/10.5r (gunmetal)

i also have eibach springs...

i am running 275/30/19s on my 10.5s and 245/35/19s on the front and it is fine. no rub, no need to roll fenders, no apparent probs with vdc.

the tires are pirelli p-zeros

my car runs pretty awesome now. much more responsive.

lemme know if you have any questions.

Do you have camber arms? That is the question. It shouldnt rub if you didnt get the camber corrected.

I do not have a camber kit. had my Z aligned and the camber was corrected as much as possible in the rear. i feel the negative camber present is negligable. if i notice any considerable wear, i will purchase a kit.

(maybe they'll be some cheaper by then!)

Jboyy:

thanks for the reply. thats the setup i plan on running... 10.5 rear and 9.5 front.

but the damn 35 series is gone everywhere!

thanks for the input.. curious tho on why you didnt roll the rear fender.. thats pretty good...

i plan on lowering my TEINs a bit more after i get my body kit and rear diffuser setup finished.... so i might have to roll the rears.. thanks for your input!
