The last set of tires I had on the car were the Nitto 555 extream zr's....what a horable tire. only department it was half decent in was braking, very very soft side wall, murdered the outside edges in a few auto-x's.

Only posted that as an extra comparison, Now I have the Mx's in size 275 up front and 295 in the rear, and love them on uper 30's cold psi, probably the worst cold weather tire i have ever felt but get them hot and they never quit.
I once did 4 laps back to back at an autox avent( big course- 1:20ish?) and the tire got better and better, also the hottest tire I have ever felt, wanted to check temps after the runs but no digi temp gun. Definitly does not get greassy!

probably the best tire hands down for the money I think

hope that helps, honest opinion from a realistic driver that isnt brand influenced lol would definatly buy again.

Jokes aside, based on your criteria I would stay away from the MXs. They aren't going to last you near as long as the KDWs...for reference, my Azenis have lasted about 6k miles - rear is dead and front still has tread but in the rain are useless - this is with many autoxs and street driving. Since the MXs have similar treadwear rating, I wouldn't expect them to last much longer. All dependent on your driving habits of course. I hear it can get pretty cold in TN, and these type of tires tend to have horrible cold grip due largely to the soft compound.

My personal take (my driving habits and criteria for tire choice), I would chose the MX over the T1R and the Vredesteins. If I were to go with a less aggressive tire better suited to wet/cold traction and longer life, the KDW would be on my short list. If you're feeling saucy, go with the Vredesteins, test them out and post a review on the forum. Who knows, maybe I'll change my tune if I hear enough rave reviews (although I would be hard pressed to get over that sidewall and tread pattern
well USN and the guy that dropped the LS2 into his car both love them apparently and they said the Vreds get positive reviews on some vette forums. both of their oppinions are generally pretty well founded. I dont know if I could handle the T1R sidewall after everyone saying how soft they are. I've been making these KDW1's roll over at 38 hot PSI lately so a T1R will probably just **** me off. USN also had T1R's and said the Vreds were far superior. I'd really like to throw on some 275/35 KDW2's...just need to see if any local shops can get 275/35 KDW's to my door for the same or close to the Vreds

Yeah although I have never run them, I wouldn't mess with the T1Rs. Just read too many mixed reviews and quite frankly I see no advantage over the KDW2.

How much more are the KDW2s than the Vredesteins? Also, since you are running the KDW1s now I assume you don't mind the noise?

the Vreds are about 120 dollars cheaper....170 versus 212. I can get KDW2's for 212 with free shipping though, its like 60 or 70 shippin for the Vreds.
