If i want better handling on twisty mountain roads,
what would you all say the best tire setup would be on oem track wheels?

I just had 245/40/r18 front and 275/40/r18 rear put on my stock rims and they lost about 8 psi over the weekend without driving.
Anyone else have this experience? I am hoping that these tires fit the stocks as I read in the forums...

Hell i run 305s in the back. The more traction the better. The car corners very well, theres less backend slide and more stability. Sure i can kick the back end out but still a very nice combo. Plus i do have to admit, it does look badass. My Z tires are wider than my Jeeps'.

"Square Tires"
For street useage:
I run 245/40-18 (f), 245/45-18(r) stock "Track Rims"with BFG KDW2 shoes and have no issues with the TCS with stock suspension with rear adjustable rear camber arms. With the BBK, I shaved off approx. 4lbs. to each side in the front, but added 3lbs. to each side in the rear.
Driving Impression:
Much better turn-in...with 1.7degree negative toe in the rear. I can modulate the turn-in with the throttle response going around corners. To save on rear tire wear for daily driving; I dial back the rear negative toe to .7 degrees.

I’m running Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires (front 245/40-18" and rear 245/45-18") on stock 18x8” wheels. My car is a 2003 Performance model (and thus is VDC equipped).
Handling is absolutely great (better turn-in and neutral steering are the biggest gain with this setup, and no problem with VDC or TCS).

Running "square" tires on the car will not affect the VDC. My car has 255/40/18's all around on track wheels and the VDC is fine. It comes on when there is slip and never causes any type of problem otherwise. It has been this way for a long time as well.
Just as an FYI of course...

I'm running Nismo LMGT's (18x8.5 +25 front and the rears are 18x9.5 +30) With a 245 front and 275 rear setup on Pirelli's. And it's all good with me, no handling issues or VDC problems at all.

I have a Performance model (and thus VDC) and run all square (same width and height, 225’s and 17” wheels) with my snow tires and wheels, and I occasionally experience unwanted VDC activation/ interference.
My summer setup is staggered (245/40-18” front and 245/45-18” rear) and never see unwanted VDC deployment.
