Question Polished Track Wheels

Has anyone had their track wheels polished - not chromed? I began to think about this after someone posted a picture of custom polished Volk GT7.

I believe that there is a clear coat finish applied to the wheel...would this have to be removed to polish the metal and then the clear coat re-applied?

Also, what kind of price figure am I looking at - I assumed around $75-100/wheel.

Please post pics if anyone has done this.

I'm getting my wheels polished soon. Quote here in OZ was $100 Aus per wheel - about 300 US. They look totally stunning - and i keep my tyres!!
