Default For those who run improper offsets.

Do any of you notice any deleterious effects from running improper offsets? I am under the impression that wheel bearing life is compromised and the steering/suspension geometry is negatively affected. Can anyone with knowledge in this area confirm? I am asking because I have narrowed my wheel choice down to two wheels; 17 inch TE-37's or 17 inch SSR Comp H wheels from Tirerack. However, I am concerned about the discrepancy between the offsets of the 8.5 inch wide wheels from both brands. The 17x8.5 Volk is +30, while the 17x8.5 SSR Comp H is +31. Do you know if this will be detrimental to the life
of my stering, suspension and/or wheel bearing life?

Thanks.

1mm is not enough to affect any of these issues.

To preserve bearing life from what I understand you want to run near stock offset and those are so you will be fine. The suspension geometry should not be affected if you're runnign the right size tire.
