Default Toyo T1R or Nito 555

Anyone have any experience with these tires? Any recommendation of which way to go? Im not going to be doing a whole lot of track days more of a street tire but I am very hard on my car!

If you must choose between these 2 then i would say t1-R for sure. I recently switched from the t1-r to the NItto invo and like the invo so much more. Its just better all around. Better wet traction, better dry, quiter i love this tire!!

T1R's have soft sidewalls which is unacceptable to me. nitto 555 + rain = death.

thanks for the input so far! Well if not either one of these wheels whats does everyone think the best tires are right now. Again keep in mind not just for track more for street and not to mention on 20" rims?

Easy decision. Toyo T1R blows away the other choice. Nitto 555 is the worst "high-perf" tire I've ever owned.

Everyone here seems to have their own favorite tire. The one I've seen virtually everyone agree on is the Michelin PS2s but they are real pricey.

What do you mean you "are real hard" on your car?

The one consistant complaint against the T 1Rs is they have a soft sidewall...which will effect hard cornering. I don't corner at the limits so never a problem for me.

I might have tried the Michelins but when I discovered I could get another set of T 1Rs for $725 delivered I felt it was to good a deal to pass on.

They both suck...

KDW2's are a good tire, much better traction than either option you mentioned and just a tad more expensive.

Owned the NT555's and driven a G on TR1's so don't think even think about driving aggressive on either you will slide everywhere. The KDW2's have way better traction, but they must be warm 1st.

Sounds like you just eliminated the T 1Rs.

Also sounds like you need a roll bar & good life insurance policy!

Agreed. LOL, no offense but you do sound like one of the million *** holes on the road. There's no reason to drive like that all the time, take it easy befor you end up in the wrecked Z thread.

But yeah if you drive like that then you won't be happy with either of those tires, or maybe you will since you "drift" corners.
